Chris Scalisi, Global Advisor

Chris Scalisi, CCS, is a recognized leader in international trade and compliance with extensive expertise in trade regulations, risk mitigation, and fostering global trade opportunities. As a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Chris has been instrumental in helping organizations navigate complex regulatory environments, develop compliance programs, and implement strategies to minimize risk and maximize efficiency in international trade operations. His achievements include recognition from the International Trade Administration (ITA) for leading a medical device export initiative into China and acknowledgment from the New York State Governor’s Office for developing innovative regional export strategies under the Global New York program. Chris's comprehensive knowledge extends to foreign trade zones (FTZs), having served as an administrator for FTZ 23. In this role, he played a pivotal part in enabling businesses to leverage FTZ benefits, streamline their operations, and reduce costs. Notably, Chris also served on the U.S.-China Joint Commission for medical devices, contributing his expertise to address regulatory challenges and promote trade opportunities in this critical sector. His proficiency in compliance audits, risk evaluation, and regulatory adherence has made him a trusted advisor in the trade compliance field. A Phi Bets Kappa graduate with honors from D’Youville University, where he majored in International Business, Chris combines academic excellence with practical, results-driven expertise. In addition to his professional achievements, Chris co-chairs all the International Compliance Professionals Association (ICPA) Regional Chair Communities and sits on the education committee, helping to connect and educate trade professionals across various regions. Chris regularly shares his insights on global trade through panels and written articles, including recent pieces on the evolving role of BRICS in reshaping global trade dynamics, strategies for mitigating global trade risks, and the impact of emerging technologies on international trade compliance. Known for his commitment to advancing trade compliance and fostering education, Chris continues to make a significant impact on the global trade landscape.
