Maria Putnam, Global Advisor
Maria has been an active leader in Global Chamber® Denver for the last five years, serving as a member of the Advisory Board and the leader of the Women’s Council. She originated Global Dining and Global Women On-line Network, both of which have grown from Denver to fully global recurring member events. In 2019 she was the recipient of the Champion of the Year award from Global Chamber® Denver. She was the Executive Director for the chapter as well for 3 months, May through July of 2021.
She has over 25 years of business experience which range from the launch of mobile phone operations in South American countries, to establishing her own multinational marketing and advertising agency which provided major clients (Comcast, Cisco, Ericsson, Coors, Starz Entertainment, City of Denver and State of Colorado) with strategies and execution in reaching target markets in Hispanic, African-American and Asian communities.
Maria is the Principal and Co-founder of the DEI Leadership Institute (www.leaddei.com), an organization that develops, certifies and supports leaders who do the work of bringing about greater levels of equity in America. Maria has developed leaders in global international studies programs and supported the career growth of minority candidates in teaching, social services and administrative leadership. Maria has also built a strong network in the business community and partnerships with not for profit and social service organizations. She is fully bilingual and multicultural.
Maria is a frequent conference speaker and has served on multiple boards.

Larry Harte, Global Advisor
Larry Harte graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for companies ranging from engineering to sales and marketing and banking before entering the world of politics. After being elected to the Glendale, Colorado city council in 2002, Larry was mayor for eight years until he was term limited and returned to the private sector. He continued to work in the community as the CEO of the chamber of commerce and to lead economic development efforts for the city. Noteworthy projects included new land use and redevelopment, decommissioning a wastewater treatment plant, integrating fire departments, creating a city center, and building a rugby stadium. These experiences helped place him into a variety of consulting roles - most recently as the COO of a construction company. He is well known for his collaborative leadership style and his results oriented approach to solving problems. There are not many people with Larry’s experience in government, non-profit management, and for-profit business. It’s this collective experience combined with his passion for building relationships and helping companies thrive that fuels his interest in Global Chamber.
Larry served on the Boards of the Denver Metro Mayors Caucus, YMCA, Livewell Colorado, the Kaiser Permanente Colfax Marathon, the Four Mile Historic Park, and the Better Business Bureau, as well as the Symmes Township Finance Committee. Architecture, music, health, soccer, and bike riding are among his interests. Larry and his wife Heather met in seventh grade. They have two children, both in high school.
Doug Bruhnke, Executive Director
Doug Bruhnke is Executive Director along with being CEO/founder of Global Chamber®, helping member and sponsor companies grow globally.
Originally from New York, Doug has lived in the Phoenix area for over 20 years and is committed to helping regional companies be more global and successful. He has lived in 7 states and 3 countries (US, Japan and Singapore), and traveled to over 60 countries.
Doug is a global entrepreneur, connector, trade advocate, speaker and author dedicated to growing Global Chamber® and helping members reach new markets and gain new clients across metros and borders more successfully.
Doug retired from the Dupont Company after expatriate assignments in Tokyo and Singapore, and he has over 37 years of global trade experience working with clients in nearly every market segment including automotive, aerospace, industrial, healthcare, life sciences and technology. Currently his memberships include Global Chamber®, the Arizona District Export Council, the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and the Thunderbird Global Alumni Network (TGAN) Advisory Council.
