Today the discussion about second passports is common at almost every event worldwide, particularly as it relates to international trade and commerce, investment opportunities, asset protection and management, tax and estate planning, travel benefits, re-location options, diplomatic ambitions, and shifting politics and trends. Having a second passport is very typical of the modern-day international entrepreneur and investor, and has been a measuring rod of distinguishing the men from the boys, and today’s savvy global player versus the good old-fashioned participant in the new era, bringing up the rear, as they say.
According to Forbes Magazine, “A second passport is the latest must-have of the world’s wealthiest.”
In light of all this, various nations have been promoting programs that lead to citizenship in those countries. They vary from one jurisdiction to the other in terms of requirements, conditions, timeframes, costs, etc. But they all come with the coveted prize at the end of the process – a passport. Citizenship-by-investment programs provide ultra-wealthy families with the privilege of a second or third passport, which affords them all the internal rights enjoyed by residents of those respective countries.
The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis introduced their program to the world in the 1980s, and this was followed by a number of other nations which saw the opportunity of capitalizing on such a viable industry.
Needless to say, as the programs grew worldwide, so has the need for qualified experts to consult and advise on such sophisticated products. In fact, in just about every country one could find a law firm, or consulting firm which has special expertise assigned to immigration issues, and with certainly special emphasis on citizenship programs that lead to a passport – if not in that jurisdiction, then some other jurisdiction(s).
We invite you to become a part of this world elite society, and let’s start a conversation about a SECOND PASSPORT for YOU.
