Recap One-on-One with Mentor on Road and Global Leader Dr. Jagat Shah

Posted by: Doug Bruhnke - Global Chamber on Monday, May 4, 2020

It was an honor and pleasure to catch up with the dynamic Dr. Jagat Shah, a uniquely special global business champion and extraordinary leader in the global tribe. His impact across India and around the world is legend! Listen and learn for your business.

Dr. Shah's MentoronRoad.com initiative, a cross-country project across the USA to 35 states & 35 cities included driving over 10,000 miles.

His initiative is in the Guiness Book of World Records for longest continuous business consulting on the road, across multiple states and cities. Something tells us that this will not be the last entry into the book of records! He gets things done... 'action at the speed of thought'.

Listen to this enlightening discussion with Dr. Shah HERE.

"The bigger the problem, the greater the opportunity."

As we learned in the discussion, in addition to the 23 years in international trade consulting, market research, B2B match making, investment promotion, smart villages and cluster development most recently, he began his career with larger firms including Xerox and a Chinese company. He received invaluable training through those early years that he used for good in the next phase.

Dr. Shah has worked in short & long term projects in India, USA, Canada, Brazil, South Africa, Senegal, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Turkey, Egypt, Germany, UK, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Finland, France, Switzerland, Austria, Croatia, UAE, Oman, Pakistan, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Afghanistan.

He has worked in many industry verticals including engineering, automotive, agriculture, food processing, infrastructure, handicrafts, textiles, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, electronics, construction, renewable energy, Biotech, Aviation, Transport, Tourism, ICT, Education & environment. Whoever needs support to sell their product or service, he's there to help.

Dr. Shah is currently working on 4 primary Initiatives:

1. Market input to India's leadership on... Make in India, Skill India, Start up India, Stand up India, Digital India, Clean India & Smart India

2. Vibrant Markets www.vibrantmarkets.biz - a state of the art market research firm with 600 clients globally.

3. 60 Plus Life www.60pluslife.org - redeploying retired people to productive work

4. Smart Village www.smartvillage.biz - converting 62 villages in India into smart villages in 1000 days.

Dr. Shah left us with several key ideas to consider on which to develop your global opportunities. He talked about being adaptable to effectively handle risk. He also discussed the need for continual innovation. When he was struggling early on in the first 6 months to establish his initial business 23 years ago, it was ultimately a slight pivot toward training that began the initial traction and created a basis for all of his activities today. Without the right attitude, tolerance for risk and the ability to change... he might have rejoined the 'rat race' - and we would all have been the worse off for that! Check out what he said about that and learn for your own business.

"Be an agent of change, not a victim of change."
