This discussion was a Globinar on Avoiding Disputes as You Grow Your Cross Border Business.

What a joy it was to hear from these three experienced leaders on this important topic. Too many times companies can get derailed by making a potentially big problem much bigger through deescalation, mediation, arbitration, contract management and reaching out to get help.

Watch the discussion HERE soon on youtube.

Miscommunications and problematic relationships can and do occur as executives grow their business across metros and borders. There are simple strategies that you can use to avoid disputes and keep clear sailing forward with a minimum of upset. We covered many of them here.

For this discussion we featured Jeffery Daar, international business speaker and Senior Principal at Daar & Newman, who has extensive global experience handling and avoiding disputes, and he will provide tips for you and your business.

Additionally we heard from two leaders who have extensive international business experience achieving forward growth progress... Rubby Golo and René Van Baardewijk. Both Rubby and Rene have extensive trade experience and had lots to say here.

This was a wonderful topic because we ALL have these issue come up, even when careful contract and people management takes places. They gave their ideas on how to succeed with selection, management and more.

Jeff went through some key points on contracts and shared good case studies to assist with starting with a strong contract.

Jeff also shared about how to include mediation and arbitration in your agreements from the start.

The topic of credit reports and being strongly with your sources such as Creditsafe is a key success factor.

Rubby shared some key points including...

  • Know your legal obligations
  • Seek help early on and along the way
  • Consciously build a good relationship
  • Employ the right staff, and train them
  • Read contacts before signing. Seriously!
  • Be organized (such as using digital signing by ZorroSign)
