Greater SATX’s Export Leaders Program conducted a two-and-a-half-day Trade Mission to Monterrey, Mexico to support San Antonio business participants to gain access to new markets south of the US border. Monterrey serves as a commercial center of northern Mexico and is the base of many significant international corporations. San Antonio business participants included Mona Helmy, CEO, Helmy Plastics, Daniel Mezza, CEO, Puro Nitro, Vanesia Adkins, CEO, Magnetic Precision Logistics (www.magneticprecision.com) and Aaron Gambaro, Logistics/Transportation Manager, XPEL Inc.

Vanesia Adkins serves as Global Chamber San Antonio’s Vice Chair. "The opportunity was invaluable for scaling up mature companies. My global logistics company, Magnetic Precision Logistics was matched with businesses in Mexico that were interested in exportation services to Mexico. The Monterrey leaders were interested in the importation of Mexican products into the US, specifically San Antonio or the State of Texas.”

The Export Leaders Program supports the growth of local Small Businesses in San Antonio, and surrounding counties, interested in expanding their business footprint through international trade. The Greater SATX program arms companies with the necessary fundamental education on trade relations through education, support by developing individual business roadmaps, implementation strategies, mobilizing the necessary resources and business connections to level up business. Global Chamber San Antonio participates on the Greater SATX Steering Group with former Chapter Chairman Jorge Canavati contributing to the program development.

Once in Monterrey, San Antonio business delegation were met by Commercial Director of Helix Global Services, Raul Rodriguez Fuentes, and his business partner who managed all the on-ground logistics.  They coordinated the personalized schedules for each business providing personal escorts, and interpreters for meetings with multiple Mexican Business Owners and Chamber leaders. The delegation was welcomed by the city of Monterrey to beginning the necessary dialogue to do business with San Antonio companies. Each day ended with debriefs on the meetings held to provide San Antonio businesses with the additional resources needed to cement new relationships.

Through the trade mission, all participants had the opportunity to network and build relationships with local business leaders.

Many thanks to Greater SATX - Rogelio Garcia, Director of Business Engagement, and Carlos Jarquin, Director, of Business Development for flying with us to Mexico and overseeing the entire event to ensure its success. We appreciate your leadership and collaboration! More: www.greatersatx.com.
