Butterfly Wings Beyond Borders

Posted by: Bishal Dahal on Friday, December 5, 2025

It's said that the wind generated by a butterfly's wings can create a monumental changes on the other side of the world.

We witnessed that in the past couple weeks, related to a Thanksgiving gift by David Hyun, a community leader in Los Angeles. David asked Doug Bruhnke, CEO of Global Chamber, to donate a small thanksgiving gift to one of our chapters.

Fly butterfly, fly! It created a wonderful chain reaction in Nepal.

I'm Bishal Dahal, founder of Global Chamber® Kathmandu, one of the first chapters of Global Chamber®.

FIRST, some of the money was donated as food including dinner from KFC, to disabled artists and people. KFC was chosen primarily because of good deals, and an added bonus is that KFC employs persons with disabilities in Kathmandu.

SECOND, the intent was to involve an artist with visual impairment to make inclusive tactile art. Because the budget was tight I was the one who mostly invested in the artwork. The finished product was submitted to National Art Center for display AND we also are organizing an exhibition at the Center. I plan to invite friends with visual impairment to create art together for the ones who are interested but had never tried.

THIRD I have also searched others with different types of disabilities (Physical, hearing, Spinal Cord Injured) and asked them if it was possible to transfer some amount in their account for going to nearest convenient KFC Store and buy a big bucket for dinner.

The photos below include persons benefiting from the gift, each having different disabilities. One of the family was from indigenous community, with challenging financial condition. I sat with that family, ate together to give company.

In the spirit of US Thanksgiving... we are thankful for butterfly with wings from around the world! We appreciate David Hyun for his willingness to give money for dinners at thanksgiving - which has resulted in many people eating a meal - and supporting artwork at the National Art Center.

Today 03 December 2025 is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD). being celebrated worldwide including Nepal.

A simple give turned into dinner for multiple families, artwork by disabled artists for the National Art Center, and meeting up with Linzi Boyd.

Thank you once again. Happy Thanksgiving!

Global Chamber is amazing. I am meeting Linzi Boyd tomorrow in Nepal, as she is speaking at a big conference as the keynote speaker. More to come, and it's because we'r global, be UNSTOPPABLE!

ps... I met Linzi Boyd, Co-founder of One Earth and a global icon in the world of entrepreneurism, branding and global impact. Wow! What a presentation she made, and what what a pleasure to meet her. Indeed, UNSTOPPABLE!
