The World Comes to Colorado - Chile

James M. McCarthy Counselor for Commercial Affairs U.S. Embassy in Chile
Juan Catril Commercial Specialist U.S. Embassy in Chile
October 2, 2019

Greetings Exporter,

The Denver Export Assistance Center, the World Trade Center, The Global Chamber, and the Denver Economic Development & Opportunity are pleased to invite you to attend a roundtable on export opportunities in Chile.  James McCarthy and Juan Catril will provide an overview of the Chilean market and best practices for interested companies.

Chile continues to be a strong trading partner and export market for U.S. companies, largely due to its open market policies, zero tariffs, stable democratic government, solid business practices, and low corruption.  As the United States - Chile Free Trade Agreement (FTA) concludes its fourteenth year, trade of products and services continues to be a resounding success. As of January 1, 2004, duties were reduced to zero on 90% of U.S. exports to Chile, and in January 2015, all remaining tariffs were phased out, such that all U.S. origin products now enter Chile tariff free.  Many U.S. Companies consider Chile an excellent platform for doing business in the Southern Cone.
