Zach Selch - VP Global Sales at PharmaJet. Zach is the VP of global sales for a medical device company, and has served as VP Sales for 3 startups, headed international sales for a midmarket company that sold for close to $400 million, has been MVP 4 times for a Fortune 1000 multinational. Zach presently runs a vlog on international sales #globalsalesmentor that comes up 5 days a week with tools for increasing your international sales.
Doug Wendt - Chief Growth Officer at Wendt Partners. Doug is an accomplished executive who developed the Wendt Partners business growth consulting model through nearly 25 years of experience across the enterprise software, electronics, aerospace and quality systems fields including worldwide management of new product launches, channel sales and technology marketing and sales efforts. Doug studied professional writing at Baylor University, then received his B.A. in Philosophy from Franciscan University and Master of Arts in Public Communication, summa cum laude, from The American University (Recognized by PRWeek as one of the Top 5 in the U.S.).
Gabriela Castro - President, Trade in Motion and Executive Director, Global Chamber Queretaro. Gabriela Castro has extensive experience in business administration, commercial affairs, foreign and international trade, research and analysis, and market development, focused on client service. She specializes in assisting and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to enter or expand into international markets. Gabriela has fifteen years of experience developing new business ventures. She also has experience in developing relationship with clients and contacts in the private sector and in the Federal and State governmental levels. During her work at the Embassy of Canada to Mexico, Gabriela has been working in various sectors such as mining, automotive, infrastructure, manufacturing, construction, energy, oil and gas, information and communications technology, and education. At the Embassy of Canada, she supported Canadian companies to enter the Mexican market, providing services such as market intelligence and profiling, key contacts as well as market potential assessment for Canadian clients interested in developing business in Mexico. She has been organizing trade missions from Canadian companies traveling to Mexico to promote their products specifically in the sectors mentioned above. Ms. Castro has been responsible for the entire program and logistics of more than 35 Canadian companies doing business in Mexico. She has been making appointments for the companies with key contacts to present their products, machinery and services. Because of the importance of the mining sector in Mexico, Gabriela has been supporting Canadian mining suppliers desiring to attend the various mining conventions in Mexico. She has been working with Canadian mining companies to support them with challenges they experience in the Mexican market. Also, Ms. Castro has been organizing successfully, road trips to visit plants and mines for international companies willing to present their products. The sectors that Gabriela manages in the North American market are mining, advanced manufacturing, automotive, aerospace and clean technologies. The sector in which she has the most expertise and experience is the mining sector as she has more than 10 years working directly with international clients and key contacts.
Gabriela holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management and Administration from Hautes Études Commerciales/Montréal University in Canada. She has been taking a variety of management, marketing, administration, negotiation, logistics, economics and finance courses, along with a focus on management. Gabriela is the founder and CEO of Trade in Motion LLC, Business Consulting Firm specialized in doing business in North America. She is also the Executive Director of Global Chamber, Chapter Queretaro, Mexico. Gabriela is the Sergeant at Arms from Toastmasters West Valley, Arizona. Ms. Castro speaks fluently Spanish, English and French.
Moderator: Ernie Watts - Executive Director of Global Chamber® Chicago. Ernie’s entrepreneurial and international experience includes staff and management positions in both industrial markets and consumer hard goods. He has been directly responsible for strategic planning, sales and marketing, P&L and ROCE targets, investment analysis, strategic alliances, M&A, contract negotiations and the development of cohesive, high performance teams. He has worked in corporate environments including Fortune 50, publicly traded global companies as well as small, privately owned domestic businesses. Internationally, Ernie has traveled and sold extensively in every major world market with significant experience in the emerging markets of Asia, Latin America and Africa. In each case he has demonstrated a unique ability to focus on critical success factors and make the necessary connections between strategy and tactics to exceed profitability targets. As President of TRC Chicago, an international management services company, Ernie works closely with client companies to enhance their performance and maximize their growth and profitability. he holds a business and marketing degree from Marquette University and earned his MBA in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He spent four years living in Mexico City and is a fluent, non-native Spanish speaker with a working knowledge of Portuguese.
