Join us on Tuesday, November 17th at 11am PT / 2pm ET for a livestream with Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez of the Philippines, moderated by RAND Senior Defense Analyst Derek Grossman.

The conversation will highlight the importance of the Philippine-U.S. alliance and what this means in the context of shared security and economic interests. They will analyze the alliance in terms of military modernization, the COVID-19 pandemic, relations with China, and the significant contributions of the Filipino-American community in the United States.

H.E. Jose Manuel “Babe” del Gallego Romualdez was appointed Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the United States of America in July 2017 by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. On the 29th of November 2017 he was credentialed by U.S. the Outgoing U.S. President and formally assumed office as Ambassador. Derek Grossman is a senior defense analyst at RAND focused on a range of national security policy and Indo-Pacific security issues. Before this, he served over a decade in the Intelligence Community.
