Global Chamber® San Antonio is proud to present the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation's (SAEDF) Executive Director Jenna Saucedo-Herrera to discuss opportunities, successes and challenges.

The San Antonio Economic Development Foundation is a private-public nonprofit dedicated to growing quality jobs in the region. Together with municipal partners, utilities leaders, and more than 165 private companies, SAEDF continues to attract companies into the Greater San Antonio business community and grow the ones that already call it home.

Biographies

Jenna Saucedo-Herrera - President and CEO at San Antonio Economic Development Foundation (SAEDF). 

Jenna joined the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation (SAEDF) as president and chief executive officer in July 2016. Saucedo-Herrera is responsible for advancing the diversification and growth of the San Antonio regional economy through domestic and international business development, partnerships and market strategies. In addition to her role of leading the principal regional economic development organization, she is also charged with leveraging her deep understanding of San Antonio’s authentic heritage and unique value proposition to attract new businesses and support the growth and expansion of local companies.

 

 

 

 Sarah Sanchez - Executive Vice President Global Development, San Antonio Economic Development Foundation

 Sarah Sanchez is the Executive Vice President of Global Development for the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation where she is responsible for international lead generation, foreign direct investment, and trade. Sanchez is a seasoned economic development executive with over 20 years’ experience in international trade and economic development in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining SAEDF, Sanchez started her career with the former Free Trade Alliance San Antonio serving as the Vice President with the responsibility of managing the Foreign Trade Zone program, advocating free trade policies and promoting foreign direct investment. In 2007 she joined the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation to recruit international companies to San Antonio. Sanchez was soon recruited by H-E-B Grocery Company to join the Global Sourcing Department to manage the importation of over $40 million of pet, household chemical and paper products from countries such as China, Thailand, Canada and Mexico. In 2010, Sanchez put her economic development experience back to work for CPS Energy, the largest municipally-owned electric and gas company. Ms. Sanchez worked with power-intensive users and companies to establish data centers, manufacturing, office, warehouse and distribution center type operations in the San Antonio area. After CPS Energy, Ms. Sanchez joined VIA Metropolitan Transit in 2015 to serve as Manger of Public Involvement. In this capacity, Ms. Sanchez and her team implemented a public engagement strategy to educate the community on the benefits of public transit and future transportation plans. Sanchez returned to SAEDF in December 2017 for her second tour of duty where she is utilizing both her international and economic development experience to diversify the local economy with foreign direct investment across San Antonio’s target industries.

Rolando Pablos - SAEDF Executive Committee Member and Co-Chair of the International Advisory Council

Rolando B. Pablos was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to serve as the 111 th Texas Secretary of State.  Secretary Pablos brings an extensive record of public service to the Office of the Secretary of State, including tenure as a commissioner of the Texas Racing Commission and the Public Utility Commission
of Texas.  He is the co-founder and CEO of Uriel Americas, a Texas company devoted to promoting infrastructure development in underserved and remote communities throughout the Western Hemisphere. Secretary Pablos also served as the founding CEO of the Borderplex Alliance, a binational economic development organization based on the U.S.- Mexico border.

He holds a Bachelor degree from St. Mary’s University, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business, a Masters of Hospitality Management from the University of Houston’s Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management, and a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University of School of Law.

Secretary Pablos is a licensed attorney, founding partner of RB Pablos P.C, and has been a member of the State Bar of Texas since 2000. He and his wife, Dr. Laura San Martin have four children, Cristina, David, Mia and Andrea.
