Dr. Joel Martin of Triad West will share here global perspectives on DEI and CRT, and how we can use the truth to create better outcomes at work and home. Dr. Martin will be joined by Maria Putnam of DEI Institute, who will weigh in as well, creating a conversation on these important topics.

In addition Luiza Dreasher of Mastering Cultural Difference will provide her perspective in these topics on her expertise as well.

The target audience includes leaders who wish to know the facts about Critical Race Theory (CRT), and how it all would impact their children’s education. This misinformation out there... and we'll get to the truth about CRT, which disrespects no one.

Joel P. Martin, Ph.D., president of Triad West Inc. Joel has more than 30 years’ experience as a DEI specialist. She is considered “a genuine genius in her approach to transformation” and one of “the best in the nation for delivering breakthrough leadership performance and organizational change.” DEI is her lived experience and her life’s work. Her commitment to creating transformational, inclusive, aligned and successful organizations has taken her before Fortune 500 leaders and business owners internationally.

 

 

 

 

Maria Putnam – Co-Founder and Director at DEI Leadership Institute. Maria has experienced the achievement of business success through deep connection with people and cultures. She has more than 20 years of experience supporting effective Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She holds a master’s degree in Community Education and a Principal license from the Department of Education from the State of Colorado.

She has led inclusive practices for hiring committees, organized global leadership conferences and guided major corporate clients (Comcast, Cisco, Ericsson, Coors, Starz Entertainment) with DEI marketing strategies and campaign execution in reaching target markets in Hispanic, African American, and Asian communities.

Maria has developed leaders in global international studies programs and supported the career growth of minority candidates in teaching, social services, and administrative leadership for Denver Public Schools in partnership with the International School Network and the Asian society. Maria has also built a strong network in the business community and partnerships with not for profit and social service organizations. She is fully bilingual and multicultural.

Maria is a frequent conference speaker and has served on multiple boards including the Global Chamber where she has been a global advisor since 2015. She also serves as the DEI advisor to the City of Denver Global Landing Pad, a business acceleration program that seeks to assist foreign companies to validate their fit with the US market and explore opportunities in Denver.  

Maria’s work has been recognized and published by the national and international media. In 2019 she was the recipient of the Champion Award for leadership in the Global Chamber and her activities associated with immigrant businesswomen in Denver were the subject of a feature article in the Denver Business Journal.

 

Luiza Dreasher - President and CEO at Mastering Cultural Differences. Luiza has over 20 years of experience in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural competence development. Her expertise in global and domestic diversity has led to consulting jobs and presentations to numerous audiences, including the United States Department of Defense, Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Schreiber Foods of Brazil, MN Department of Public Safety, Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union, and numerous institutions of higher education.

Luiza has taught courses focusing on Social Justice, Cross-Cultural Race Relations, and currently teaches Diversity Management at Metropolitan State University. While serving as an Assistant Dean and Director of Multicultural and International Inclusion at Mitchell Hamline School of Law in Saint Paul, she developed and taught a course on Cultural Competence for the Legal Profession.

As a contributing writer for The Inclusion Solution, a newsletter distributed by The Winters Group, Luiza focuses on transformative solutions for equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace. With over 86,000 readers, Luiza has written about strategies for recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce, the detrimental impact of microaggressions in the workplace, achieving inclusive religious observance, age discrimination, and how biases and lack of cultural competence keep diversity out.

At the invitation of the Winters Group, she wrote an expert paper on “”Addressing Race and Racism in the Workplace.”” Last year, she wrote, How many more have to die? What each and every one of us can do. This article was written after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and was among Inclusion Solution’s top ten most read blogs of 2020. Se also wrote “”Racism is a White Problem,”” where she argues how systemic racism harms Whites and provides mechanisms for changes.

Luiza is currently the President and CEO of Mastering Cultural Differences. As such, she designs and implements customized programs for organizations and educational institutions that want team members to understand cultural differences and work well across those differences. In fact, in her recently published book, Mastering Cultural Differences: Strategies for Leading a Global Workforce, she provides incredible insight into cultural differences impacting today’s diverse workplaces as well as best practices for increased performance in a global economy.
