Keyaan began his career in technology as a communications infrastructure specialist, working with ISDN. Over the years, he has become a passionate advocate for risk governance, successfully deploying enterprise risk, cybersecurity, and data privacy programs for a range of organizations.

He works to make the world a better place by helping organizations of all sizes improve their risk governance. Whether through executive education, consulting, or his Cyber Strategy Retreat conference, his focus is on implementing a curated risk appetite framework that empowers boards and senior leadership to make informed decisions about which risks to accept, which to avoid, and how to operate within acceptable risk boundaries. His ultimate goal is to help organizations meet their legal obligations for duty of care while minimizing the impact of any cybersecurity or data privacy incidents, particularly when it comes to court-directed remedies.

He believes good governance leads to good business outcomes, especially in terms of reliability, availability, and safety—key factors that help his clients fulfill their promises to customers and stakeholders. His approach emphasizes people, processes, and strategy, leaving the technology concerns to others. Always open to meeting new people, he believes everyone has something valuable to contribute.
