Daniel Ujczo - Practice Group Chair, International & Regional Practices at Dickinson Wright PLLC. Dan is an international trade and customs lawyer who specializes in Canada-United States matters. In addition to his legal practice, Dan has responsibility for coordinating the firm’s innovative Canada-US Platform where he collaborates with more than 400 Dickinson Wright attorneys who regularly assist businesses that have cross-border issues such as customs and compliance, corporate structuring, M&A, taxation, business immigration, intellectual property protection, and financial incentives. Dan also provides public policy counsel to governmental officials and corporate leaders in areas of regulatory cooperation, border security, economic development, labor mobility, corporate social responsibility, and public-private-partnerships. A US-licensed lawyer, Dan is one of the few individuals that has served in the US and Canadian governments, private practice, and academia. Prior to joining Dickinson Wright, Dan served as an officer in Canada’s foreign ministry where he was responsible for coordinating a network of government departments and Canada-US industry associations toward improving North America’s borders and ports-of-entry. Dan also served as a liaison between government officials in Canada and the US, as well as routinely assisted companies in dealings with Canada-US regulatory agencies.
Kathleen Campbell Walker - Member and Immigration Practice Group Co-Chair at Dickinson Wright. Kathleen Campbell Walker is a prior national president and general counsel to the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She has practiced business immigration law for more than thirty years. She is one of 11 lawyers in the United States ranked in Band One by the Chambers and Partners independent lawyer ranking service in its Global Guide. Kathleen Campbell Walker is a Member at the Dickinson Wright El Paso Office. She is known internationally as a leader in the field of immigration law. In addition to advising clients on the complex issues related to business immigration, she advocates at local, state, and federal levels for immigration reform, the improvement of national border security infrastructure and procedures, consular processing and admission procedures for foreign nationals, and improvement in the provision of pro bono immigration services and detention standards. Her immigration law practice focuses on business and family-based immigration, consular processing, employer sanctions/ worksite enforcement, immigration audits, security checks, waivers, admissibility, and citizenship and naturalization. Luis Ramirez - President of Ramirez Advisors Inter-National. Ramirez Advisors is a highly specialized firm dedicated to creating and implementing innovative solutions for cross-border business opportunities and improving the ability for goods and people to cross the border. Luis has over 25 years of experience on US-Mexico border infrastructure projects, North American relations, international business and negotiations, regional economic development, industrial site selection, government procurement, project management and governmental affairs. Luis has dedicated a considerable amount of time, both personal and professional, to fostering better relations with Mexico and Canada, improving the quality of life for the residents of the border and promoting the economic development of the region. He has led multidisciplinary teams on a number of cross-border projects, including site selection for major manufacturing facilities; design, funding and construction of new ports of entry; assisted companies in pursuing government procurement contracts; and identifying joint venture partners for a variety of business ventures. He serves on multiple professional and charitable boards and was recently appointed to the Advisors Council to the Administrator of the EPA for the North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation.
Luis received his Bachelor of Arts and Science from the University of Arizona, Cum Laude and his Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University with a Dean’s Citation of Service. He attended High School in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
