Background: The Sustainable Success globinar series will bring in experts on how to build businesses that support the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs - through social development, environment protection and economic growth and collaboration between private sector and the local government.
In this globinar, the prominent speakers in the panel will focus on creating business practices following the B Corp Certification - the only certification that measures how a company’s operations and business model impact their workers, community, environment, and customers, building a local ecosystem that invests in thriving social businesses, creating a financial framework that balances purpose and profit and collaboration between local government and private sectors to deal with climate change issues.
Objectives:

Keynote: Carolina Miranda, Founder and CEO of Cultivating Capital
Carolina Miranda is the the founder and CEO of Cultivating Capital, a Certified B Corp since 2012 that works with small businesses to implement sustainable business practices. As a Green Business, Sustainability, and B Corp Consultant, she has worked with hundreds of organizations to implement social and environmental initiatives, get certified, and establish 5-year sustainability action plans. She specializes in helping small businesses align their business with their values by implementing best practices for social and environmental responsibility and is actively involved with the B Corp Women CEOs group.
Shihab Quader, International Project Manager, Yunus Centre
Shihab Quader emphasizes in social business and market development in emerging and frontier markets. He has handled multiple game changing initiatives over eight years that has a cumulative value of more than USD $500 M. Specializing in strategy design and implementation for the C-suite, he is now based at the Yunus Centre, Dhaka to help with its growing portfolio of international projects focusing on social business development. Previously, Shihab used to handle strategic growth initiatives of 13 social enterprises and facilitated programme design, risk and partnership management between Commonwealth donors and one of the world’s largest INGOs.
Christina Sjahli, Founder and CEO of Profit Reimagined™
Christina Sjahli is the founder and CEO of Profit Reimagined™, a virtual CFO services that partners with businesses who are passionate in addressing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and ensure they lead a purposeful life. Leveraging her experiences with EY, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers, the top and largest professional services and accounting firms , she has worked with public and private companies globally in various financial matters and now she takes her financial expertise to develop a financial framework where sustainability meets profitability.
Silvy S. Munira, Program Officer, Climate Vulnerable Forum
Sirazoom Munira (Silvy) is serving as focal representative from the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) Secretariat to support the Bangladesh Government Presidency of the CVF which is currently chaired by the Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She is based at the South-Asia Regional Office of Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) and is currently supporting the CVF Special Envoy. As a part of the Secretariat, her role mainly includes providing technical support for CVF program and policy priorities including safeguarding 1.5 degree Paris Agreement goals and CVF-V20 Climate Prosperity Plans in coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change and Permanent Missions of the Bangladesh Government.
Over the past 6 years, Silvy's area of work has been on trying to build resilience for the climate vulnerable communities – by exploring enhanced access to global climate finance and research on climate change interlinkages on health, labor, gender, migration, human rights etc. Her contributions have been recognized by Regional Development Dialogue under the UN Center for Regional Development and the Royal Commonwealth Society.
Prior to joining the CVF, Silvy was working at UNDP Bangladesh within its renowned climate change program where she contributed to developing its innovative Resilience Marketplace concept. She holds a Distinction in MSc. Risk and Environmental Hazards from the University of Durham, UK. Silvy is a former Commonwealth Scholar and Chancellor’s Gold Medalist from North South University. She also teaches at North South University in its Department of Environmental Science and Management as Adjunct Lecturer.
