Ana Mallen - Senior ESG Consultant. Ana is a senior executive with +11 years of experience in the design and implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility programs for multinational publicly traded companies operating in Latin America, specializing in the development of auditable ESG programs compliant with rating agencies and financial institutions’ requirements. Proven success in the development and implementation of sustainability strategy through multi-stakeholder engagement and effective communication of CSR activities.
Alberto Orozco - Director & CEO of Capitan Mining and President of the Mining Cluster in Sonora. Alberto is a professional with a strong scientific background and a great interest in corporate strategy and innovation. He feels constantly motivated to build collaborative teams; his most recent focus has been on evaluating how to create shared value in the mining industry in collaboration with government, NGOs and academia.
Alberto has worked in several stages of the mining industry, mostly in leading teams in multiple mineral exploration projects in Mexico, but also actively participating in aspects of project development and operations. His professional experience has been focused on gold mining and exploration in Mexico, including the 1+ Million ounce projects Ixhuatán, San Antonio, La Colorada, El Castillo and San Agustín from Argonaut Gold.
Alberto is the Director & CEO of Capitan Mining and President of the Mining Cluster in Sonora.
Daniel Santamaría Tovar - Vice President of Minera Gorrión - Almaden Minerals Ltd. Daniel graduated in geology with honors from the University of Tasmania. He has a post-graduate degree in glacial geology from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. Daniel has international and multidisciplinary experience. He has collaborated with different companies in Surinam, Yukon, Alaska and lately in the North of the Sierra of Puebla working with Almaden Minerals. In 2012, Daniel represented Almaden in the Porter Studio, investigating active hydrothermal systems in the isles located south of Japan. In 2014, Daniel was an intern from the Organization of American States (OAS) for the workshop Conflicts Resolution in Exploration and Administration of Natural Resources. Nowadays, Daniel is the Vice President of Minera Gorrión; he is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility team of Almaden Minerals.

Gabriela Castro has extensive experience in business administration, commercial affairs, foreign and international trade, research and analysis, and market development, focused on client service. She has fifteen years of experience developing new business ventures and cultivating relationships with clients and contacts in the private sector and Federal and State governments. During her tenure at the Embassy of Canada to Mexico, Gabriela worked in various sectors such as mining, automotive, infrastructure, manufacturing, construction, energy, oil and gas, information and communications technology, and education. She supported Canadian companies to enter the Mexican market, providing services such as market intelligence and profiling, key contacts as well as market potential assessment.
She has more than 10 years of experience and expertise in the mining industry in Mexico, the United States and Canada supporting companies entering these markets and organizing road trips.
Gabriela is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Trade in Motion, a business development consulting firm that specializes in assisting and supporting small and medium- sized enterprises (SMEs) to enter or expand into the Mexican, American and Canadian markets. Incorporated in Arizona, Trade in Motion validates and evaluates the markets to find opportunities for companies. Some areas of expertise managed are international business development, business support, business contacts, personal business assistance, and specialized outsourcing of technical services.
Fluent in Spanish, English, and French, Gabriela holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management and Administration from Hautes Études Commerciales/Montréal University in Canada.
