Keynote Speakers 

Irina Sirota - Senior Vice President, Market Executive at Bank of America NYC. 

Irina is a Senior Vice President and Market Executive with Bank of America managing a team that is responsible for acquiring, expanding and retaining a commercial banking portfolio, generating revenue from new and existing clients. She leads a group of experienced professionals delivering world class solutions to commercial clients in the lower middle market segment. Irina’s mission is to support local businesses by providing holistic banking solutions and afford them the power to fuel continued growth. Irina joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2002 via the predecessor Fleet National Bank which was acquired by Bank of America in 2004. She started her commercial banking career in Global Commercial Banking as a Credit Analyst in the Corporate Banking Development Program. She also served as a Senior Underwriter and Relationship Manager in Middle Market before taking on the role in Business Banking as a Senior Credit Officer in 2016. Irina began her banking career in the branches as a teller while she was a full time college student in the late 1990’s. It was then that she realized her passion to help make financials lives better through the power of every connection. 

 

Melissa (Mel) Sanderson - President at American Rare Earths

Mel is President at American Rare Earths, and is also founder and President at Mel Sanderson Consulting, leading Corporate Social Responsibility Programs, Government and Public Relations and Effective Management in a Global Context. She has a 20-year diplomatic career and deep and wide international business experience. She speaks 7 languages, fluent in 3. Previously Mel was Vice President of International Affairs at Freeport McMoRan Copper and Gold. Before that she was a political counselor at the United States’ Department of State, where she was a Political Officer and Charge d'Affairs at the US Embassy in the Congo. She also worked as a corporate investment advisor at Fifth Third Bank. Melissa has a B.A. in Economics, a B.A. in English Literature and an MBA degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.

 

Albert Tan - Manager at PwC, Sustainability and ESG Reporting Team

Albert Tan is a manager on PwC’s Sustainability and ESG Reporting team and specializes in GHG accounting, sustainability data and reporting. He works with clients to build GHG Inventories, assure GHG data, and develop process & controls for future regulatory reporting. Additionally, he helps clients assess their business and processes against the SEC Climate Proposal.  

Previously he worked at ISS, engaging with asset managers about ESG data. And prior to that he worked at Nuveen, the asset manager of TIAA-CREF, giving seminars on campus to stakeholders on Responsible Investing engaging on various stakeholders from Chief Investment Officers, investment consultants, to retirement plan participants.  

Albert received his MBA in Global Finance from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and holds a Bachelor of Music from DePaul University. Albert is also a CFA chart holder and is active in the Sustainability Investing Committee at the CFA NY chapter. Additionally, Albert holds various sustainability and ESG credentials including being a SASB FSA Credential Holder, GRI Certified Sustainability Professional, Certificate in ESG Investing by the CFA Institute and the GARP Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) Certification. Albert is also a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Macedonia ’06 – ’08).
