Welcome to our next "Welcome to Phoenix" reprise at SkySong on April 25th at 3pm, welcoming incoming companies to the region by celebrating and connecting. It's been a few years for this one!!
We open doors and create strategic global connections for members and interested leaders to new business opportunities... through a panel and an intentional global networking exercise.

Biographies
Casey Gilchrist is Senior Director, International Business Development at Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC). She has worked in the economic development field since 2015, having first started in Chesapeake, Virginia where she specialized in domestic and international business attraction. In 2020, Casey joined the City of Richmond, Virginia’s economic development department to oversee both its business attraction and retention programs. During her tenure in Richmond, she helped contribute to over $850 million in capital investment and assisted in announcing over 2,000 new jobs. Casey's leadership and project management experience will support GPEC in attracting and growing quality businesses. She is committed to making the Greater Phoenix region a diverse, inclusive, and competitive regional economy.
Before moving to Phoenix, Arizona, Casey was an active member in the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC) and served as Virginia’s alternate director for the SEDC Board of Directors for two consecutive terms. Casey has held memberships to various professional organizations including, the Young Professionals of the Hampton Roads Chamber, the Greater Richmond Association for Commercial Real Estate, and the Virginia Economic Development Association. Originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Casey graduated from George Mason University, where she received her undergraduate degree. In 2015, she obtained her Master of Public Administration from Old Dominion University.
- Kirby Best - President & CEO, BMC. Kirby dedicated 35 years to revolutionizing the book manufacturing, book supply chain, and book information analysis industries. He is the past President & CEO of Lightning Source Inc. the world's largest digital print-on-demand book manufacturer, and a division of Ingram Content Group.
Kirby was the founder and CEO of Royal Book Manufacturing, a company that optimized the computer controlled book manufacturing process for speed, efficiency, and cost. He served on several boards including BMI (Book Manufacturers Institute), wrote articles for trade journals, published several books, and delivered keynote speeches at industry shows worldwide discussing the future trends in the manufacturing and information analysis industries.
Prior to his business career Kirby represented Canada in multiple World Championships. He was the driver of Canada 1 four-man bobsled and a member of the biathlon, speed and freestyle skiing teams. Mountain biking, cycling, soaring and polo are his current interests. He holds a multi-turbine engine helicopter, glider pilot’s license. Kirby and his wife live in Tucson Arizona and have four adult sons.
Kirby is the President & CEO of BMC. His passion is on-demand Computer Directed Manufacturing (CDM) using software to automate every possible portion of the supply chain from the creator to the consumer. His focus is to create value for the customer by bringing a new supply chain to market that reduces their risk and delivers better products and a better bottom line. By producing one-off fully customizable garments on-demand the brand/designer has no inventory, no warehousing, and ships direct to consumer.
Dr. Velma Trayham - CEO, ThinkZILLA Consulting Group & Founder, Millionaire Mastermind Academy. Dr. Trayham is an award-winning Entrepreneur, sought-after speaker and economic empowerment specialist who believes that inclusive, equitable businesses and communities are what create opportunity and drive prosperity. Through ThinkZILLA Consulting Group Dr. Trayham builds, manages, and helps bring greater awareness to programs and initiatives that are vital to supporting underserved and underrepresented communities around the U.S.
Dr. Trayham is a recipient of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards given by President Biden.
Having been born into poverty, Dr. Trayham understands the realities associated with growing up poor. That’s why she has devoted her life to helping other women achieve success. Her best-selling book titled When God Says Go represents her philosophy on life and her commitment to being of service to others.
To date, Dr. Trayham has mentored more than 5,000 minority women business owners in the past three years. She has also developed programs for notable fortune 500 organizations and enterprises such as University of Phoenix, T.D. Jakes Enterprises, Fiji Water, Country Financial, Atlanta Airlines Terminal Company, Blaylock Van, LLC amongst others and was recently featured in Forbes November 2020 issue as a top business consultant.
Kurt Kroemer is a Candidate for U.S. House of Representatives, Arizona's 1st District. Kurt served as the interim President and CEO of the American Red Cross from June 2021 to January 2022. He has over 30 years of experience in the financial industry, having held senior executive positions at companies such as Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley. Kroemer joined the American Red Cross in 2018 as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President, overseeing financial strategy and operations. He played a key role in the organization's response to numerous disasters, including hurricanes, wildfires, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Kroemer holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
