Speaker's Biography

Jean Baptiste DEAL - Founder & Managing Director at Avantagents

Business Development Parter at Lingble

High achiever, super connector, problem solver, business accelerator, during his 20 years of professional experience, Jean-Baptiste has represented the interests of multiple businesses and organizations from around the world.

JB is fluent in English, French and Mandarin and graduated from HKUST in 2012 with an MBA. He possesses exceptional communication skills and broad multi-cultural exposure. JB attended programs on negotiation at Harvard and attended the Foundation of Directorship program from AICD (the Australian Institute of Company Directors).

During his career, JB has represented the interests of multiple parties including government agencies, investors, vendors, buyers, and has always strived to attain the best possible outcome in any given situation.

Born in France in 1980, Jean Baptiste became interested in foreign cultures while travelling abroad during his university studies in France. He showed a keen interest in Mandarin and began his adventure in China by learning Chinese at the Beijing Language and Culture University, he later completed an MBA degree at HKUST in Hong Kong. Passionate about negotiation, he completed several Programs On Negotiation at Harvard in the United States. Jean Baptiste has exceptional
language skills and a deep understanding of several cultures (and their differences).

 

 

Mahoto Harada - Founder & CEO, Lingble

Mahoto has over 15 years of experience in cross-border e-commerce. He was also Vice President at one of Japan’s most important unicorns, where he learned the ins and outs of running a tech company. He has also been a serial, successful entrepreneur for many years and was a Fulbright Scholar. Mahoto earned his MBA at IMD and has lived and worked in North America, Europe and Asia.

Mahoto was born in Mie Prefecture in Japan in 1981. He currently lives and works in Paris, France. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, he joined a trading company. After working in the Netherlands, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen, he retired from the company and returned to Japan.

Later, he received a Fulbright Scholarship, and did his MBA (Master of Business Administration) at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), a Swiss business school. After returning to Japan, he joined Cookpad, and established the Health Care Division (now Oishii Kenko
Co., Ltd.).

With IT and international experience, he started Lingble, a global e-commerce platform in 2004. In 2009, Mahoto founded Lingble's predecessor, the denim sales company DENIMIO. By 2016, the company was shipping to more than 100 countries and had 300,000 monthly visits.

Lingble was founded in 2019, and now works with medium to large enterprises with 10m - 5000m USD of annual revenue.

 

Markus Schleich - Team Leader, Partner Success & Marketing

Markus has been working as a consultant for various fashion brands for over a decade. With an academic background in intercultural communication, consumer psychology and comparative media studies, he always been passionate about connecting brands with global audiences.

Markus was born near Hamburg Germany in 1985. He currently lives and works in Belfast, United Kingdom. After finishing his Ph.D. in communication and media studies, he spent 5 years as a lecturer in Germany, Poland, the US, and the UK. Wanting to move away from the theory of analyzing and drafting policy documents, he joined Lingble as part of the marketing department for more hands-on experience.

An expert in brand building customer psychology and profiling, Markus has helped numerous brands to step out of their domestic markets and expand internationally. As a strong advocate of a global approach, that combines the local and the global, nothing excites him more than building powerful marketing campaigns and creating impactful stories that resonate with consumers worldwide.
