Imen Oueslati, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the Center of Biotechnology of Borj-Cédria in Tunisia, where she also holds the position of Head of the Unit of Research Support and Transfer of Technology. With a career spanning nearly two decades, Imen has been a prominent figure in the field of olive biotechnology since 2004.
Throughout her distinguished career, Imen has contributed significantly to the field, evidenced by her extensive list of scholarly publications and successful supervision of numerous students. Her commitment to advancing olive biotechnology has led to collaborations with esteemed research laboratories in Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, and other international centers.
Beyond academia, Imen has ventured into entrepreneurship, leveraging her expertise to establish a company focused on the production of food supplements. Her company utilizes phenolic extracts from various plants, including olives, aromatic and medicinal plants, and perennial plants, incorporating microencapsulation techniques to preserve the bioactive properties of these extracts.
Currently, in the process of procuring essential equipment, Imen is actively seeking government financing to realize the full potential of her entrepreneurial endeavor. The project, rooted in the valorization of olive products and by-products, presents promising avenues for development and innovation.
