Speakers

Gunjan Bagla has over 25 years of global sourcing, engineering, and marketing experience. He has held senior positions in technology sales and marketing. Bagla has managed teams sourcing products and services from China, India, Japan, and the rest of Asia. He began his career as an engineer for Larsen & Toubro, Bangalore, a prominent Indian industrial firm. Mr. Bagla came to the U.S. and later worked as Director of Program Management for Tandon Computer.He is the founder and Managing Director of Amritt, Inc.

Based in California, he is the author of the acclaimed title “Doing Business in 21st Century India: How to Profit Today from tomorrow’s most exciting Market” published in 2008 by Warner/Hachette Books and was the technical editor on John Wiley’s Doing Business in India for Dummies (2007). He  created the executive seminar “Business with India” for Caltech, the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California and has also taught executives at the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Phoenix, Arizona. These books and seminars are a direct result of his work as an India Business Consultant for major Western clients.

Bagla has been interviewed on Fox Business Television, BBC World News, BBC Television’s The Hub with Nik Gowing and National Public Radio’s To The Point with Warren Olney. He’s been quoted in the New York Times, the Financial Times,  the Los Angeles Times, Business Week, Business with India, the Hollywood Reporter, and other global media for his expertise on India. His articles have appeared in Harvard Business Review,  Business Week, CIO Magazine, Purchasing Magazine, Quality Magazine, Business World, Daily Variety, and many other publications.

Gunjan is a  Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneur (TiE), a business association including Western and Indian organizations. He also serves on the board of the South Asia Studies Association. He is a mechanical engineering graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology and currently President of the IIT Alumni Group. Gunjan completed his MBA from Southern Illinois University, where he was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. Doug is a two-time ex-pat with Dupont in Tokyo and Singapore with 35 years of global business experience in nearly all countries and segments. He is a regional advisor for the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and a member of Arizona District Export Council and other organizations.

Doug has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Utah, an EMBA from Michigan State University, and is co-inventor on 5 patents. He was born in Mount Kisco, NY, and is based in Scottsdale and Palo Alto. He's been married 40 years and has a daughter and grandson.
