For those attending the Summit in person, please arrive by 2:30pm local time to get you seated for a starting time of 2:45pm.
Attend via zoom or in-person (401 N 1st Street). Parking is available at street meters all around the downtown ASU campus. There are many spots available at this time of day, and it’s at the regular rate of $3/h. Also consider the parking garages nearby, which are $20. The AZ Republic Parking is adjacent to the building, though remember that you'll need to come around to the 1st Street side via Polk Street for the main entrance to Thunderbird.

Speaker Biographies
Akihiko Oma
President/CEO at Toshiba America
Akihiko Oma assumed the position of president and CEO for Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC) based in Irvine, California, with world HQ in Tokyo, Japan. Under his leadership, TAEC has focused on expanding Toshiba’s HDD, discrete semiconductor and system LSI businesses in key application areas such as IoT, in-vehicle systems, data center, automotive and industrial.
As a 35-year Toshiba veteran, Mr. Oma has held a variety of management, planning, marketing, and sales positions, including his prior role of senior vice president of planning and operations at TAEC. During Mr. Oma's six year tenure with Toshiba Electronics Asia, Ltd. in Hong Kong, his responsibilities included managing the intricacies of Toshiba’s international operations for electronic components. He then returned to Japan to manage global planning for Toshiba's semiconductor business, developing the strategy and direction for the company's global sales and marketing teams. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree as a graduate from Waseda University in Japan.
Senator Mark Kelly
Mark is U.S. Senator for the State of Arizona.
Senator Kelly is the son of two police officers, and he attended public schools from elementary school through the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. As a naval aviator, he served on the aircraft carrier the U.S.S. Midway and flew 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm. Senator Kelly was later selected as an astronaut in 1996 in the same class as his twin brother Scott. He flew his first of four missions into space in 2001 aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour and retired from the Navy and NASA after commanding the final flight of Endeavour in 2011. Senator Kelly was sworn into his Senate seat on December 2, 2020 to finish the term of the late Senator John McCain. He lives in Tucson with his wife, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords.
Mayor Kate Gallego
Mayor Kate Gallego has spent her career working to find solutions to complex problems. Prior to being elected as Mayor, she served for five years as the City Councilwoman for District 8, a large district covering much of South Phoenix. Her record of proven results includes leading the campaign to pass Phoenix's citywide transportation plan through 2050 and working to ensure equal pay for equal work. While on the council, Mayor Gallego helped make Phoenix a leader in job creation and worked with police and firefighters to improve public safety and make neighborhoods more secure.
In March 2019, Mayor Gallego became the second elected female Mayor in Phoenix history and the youngest big-city Mayor in the United States. Mayor Gallego is passionate about building a Phoenix that works for everyone, including her two-year-old son, Michael, and she led the effort to partner with AARP to make Phoenix a city where seniors can thrive. She believes everyone should have access to cutting edge medical care and has led on expanding Phoenix's biomedical campus. Mayor Gallego is working to grow the city's economy, create jobs, and stand up for the city's core values.
Prior to being elected Mayor to the city that she loves, Mayor Gallego worked on Strategic Planning and Economic Development for the utility company, Salt River Project. She worked to attract new companies and jobs to Phoenix. Mayor Gallego graduated from Harvard University and earned an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Sanjeev Khagram
Sanjeev is the Director General and Dean of Thunderbird School of Global Management.
He is a world-renowned scholar and practitioner in the areas of globalization, transnationalism, leadership, strategic management, entrepreneurship, social enterprise, cross-sector innovation, public-private partnerships, inter-organizational networks, good governance, transparency, the global political economy, sustainable development, human security, and the data revolution. He holds a bachelor's in development studies and engineering, a master's degree and doctoral degree minor in economics and doctorate in political economy, all from Stanford.
Dean Khagram has worked extensively with global start-ups, corporations, governments, civil society groups, multilateral organizations, cross-sectoral action networks, public-private partnerships, foundations, professional associations and universities all over the world from the local to the international levels. He has lived and worked for extended periods in Brazil, India, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, Thailand, Germany and the United Kingdom. Khagram is of Asian Indian heritage, a Hindu, and a refugee from Idi Amin’s Uganda, which brought him to the United States in 1973 via refugee camps in Italy. He is the proud father of two sons.
Dr. Peter Wonsok Yun

Dr. Yun is Executive Director of Global Chamber Korea, with 5 main chapters. He is CEO of Meta Globe and Co-Chair of Global Korea Business Forum. He is an expert in Market Intelligence, Presidential Economic Diplomacy: Trade Development and Trade Show, In-Out bound Investment including M&A.
Dr. Yun has successfully served international posts such as Deputy Director of KOTRA Miami, U.S. (1991-1994); Head of Commercial Section (KOTRA) of Korean Embassy Nairobi, Kenya (1998-2001); Chief Trade Commissioner of KOTRA Vancouver, Canada (2003-2007); Head of KOTRA Busan, Korea (2008-2009), Chief Trade Commissioner of KOTRA, Los Angeles (2010-2012). He holds Phd. in Business Administration from Sungkyunkwan University. Dr. Yun was awarded the Order of Industrial Service Merit from President of Korea.
Dr. Sihoon Ryu

Dr. Sihoon Ryu brings his 17 years of hands-on venture investment experience in the mobile, semiconductor, and automotive industries to his role at KIC DC as President.
Prior to joining KIC DC, Sihoon worked as an investor at SKTelecom Ventures, Daedeok Venture Partners, and Hyundai Mobis Ventures.
He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Yonsei Univ. and a Corporate Valuation certification from Wharton Executive Education.
Mi Jeong Hibbitts
CEO at Robert & William and Executive Director, Global Chamber Baltimore/Washington
An accomplished international business and marketing expert, Mi Jeong Hibbitts is the CEO of Robert and William, a strategic consulting firm based in Maryland, USA, specializing in US-Asia market entry. She came to the US in 1997 and has decades of expertise and experience. With a diverse background in international trade, marketing, advertising, journalism, finance, technology, and the US government, she offers strategic counsel and practical support for innovative companies of all sizes, including startups, engaged in cross-border trade and investment between the US and Asia.
Additionally, Mi Jeong serves as the Executive Director for Global Chamber® Baltimore/Washington DC, where she drives efforts to grow cross-border trade and investment for members in various industries.
She holds a degree in English Language and Literature from Ewha Womans University and an MBA from the University of Hawaii.
Chris Camacho
President and CEO at Greater Phoenix Economic Council
Chris Camacho serves as president & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC), one of the longest-standing public-private partnerships for economic development across the country. As chief executive, Chris leads the development and execution of the region’s strategic economic strategy, oversees domestic and international business development, and ensures the market position remains competitive through coordination with partner organizations, private sector leaders, and municipal and state leadership. He has led the attraction of more than 460 companies during his tenure, creating nearly 85,000 jobs and $24 billion in capital investment. Some notable projects include TSMC, Apple, Silicon Valley Bank, Microsoft, GoDaddy, Yelp, Amazon, Garmin, General Motors, ElectraMeccanica, Zoom, HelloFresh,and headquarters including Benchmark Electronics, Carlisle Companies and Rogers Corporation. In October 2021, Chris led GPEC to being recognized as the top economic development organization globally by the International Economic Development Council a year after being named the top EDO in the U.S. in 2020.
Gunjan Bagla
Gunjan has over 25 years of global sourcing, engineering, and marketing experience. He has held senior positions in technology sales and marketing. Bagla has managed teams sourcing products and services from China, India, Japan, and the rest of Asia. He began his career as an engineer for Larsen & Toubro, Bangalore, a prominent Indian industrial firm. Mr. Bagla came to the U.S. and later worked as Director of Program Management for Tandon Computer.He is the founder and Managing Director of Amritt, Inc. Gunjan gives his unique insight into many of the news events, business developments, and business trends affecting India and those companies who partner with India today in a more informal format. Based in California, he is the author of the acclaimed title “Doing Business in 21st Century India: How to Profit Today from tomorrow’s most exciting Market” published in 2008 by Warner/Hachette Books and was the technical editor on John Wiley’s Doing Business in India for Dummies (2007). He created the executive seminar “Business with India” for Caltech, the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California and has also taught executives at the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Phoenix, Arizona. These books and seminars are a direct result of his work as an India Business Consultant for major Western clients.
Bagla has been interviewed on BBC World News, BBC Television’s The Hub with Nik Gowing and National Public Radio’s To The Point with Warren Olney and Fox Business Television. He’s been quoted in in the New York Times, the Financial Times, the Los Angeles Times, Business Week, Business with India, the Hollywood Reporter, and other global media for his expertise on India. His articles have appeared in Harvard Business Review, Business Week, CIO Magazine, Purchasing Magazine, Quality Magazine, Business World, Daily Variety, and many other publications.

Dan Lachica
Dan is the President of Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation, Inc. (SEIPI), the association representing the electronics industry which accounts for 62.3% of total Philippine commodity exports and employs over 3M direct and indirect workers.
Dan has over 40 years of senior management experience in semiconductors, electronics and consumer goods manufacturing, 16 of which were in front-end semiconductor wafer manufacturing in Silicon Valley. Prior to his early retirement from the Lopez Group of companies, he was a SVP with First Philippine Holdings Corp. and concurrent President of the group’s electronics/solar manufacturing companies. He returned to the Philippines in 1996 as the expatriate Managing Director of Iomega Corporation of Utah. He also held leadership positions at Hewlett Packard in California, Motorola in Arizona, American Microsystems Inc. in Idaho, and Procter & Gamble in the Philippines.
Dan is an expert in world-class initiatives such as Six Sigma (Black Belt & U.S. IQPC Judge), Balanced Score Card, and Total Productive Maintenance. He had received several awards including the Dr. Joseph Juran National Medal from the Philippine Society for Quality, and Outstanding Electrical Engineer from the University of the Philippines (U.P.). He has BSEE from U.P. Diliman, an MBA from San Jose State University in California, and a DBA (With Distinction) from De La Salle University. Dan is a Philippine Science High School (PSHS) alumnus and currently sits in the Board of the Philippine Science High School System (PSHSS). He is a member of the Advisory Councils of DOST’s SEI, ITDI, and AmCen. For DTI, Dan sits in the Export Development Council ExCom and Co-Chairs the EMB NCTPPS and the Electronics TWG. He is concurrently the Chief of Party for the USAID AMDev Program.
Ricardo Rascon
Ricardo is Director of Marketing at Tetakawi, one of the largest providers of shelter services in Mexico and the largest privately-owned employer in Sonora, has a distinguished record of aiding companies from around the globe in their expansion into Mexico. His expertise in B2B marketing strategies and demand generation has been crucial for businesses across diverse sectors such as aerospace, automotive, medical devices, electronics, furniture, and sporting goods.
Ricardo's role extends beyond just Sonora; he has been instrumental in facilitating company expansions into other key regions like Coahuila and Mazatlán. His approach focuses on educating companies about the benefits and challenges of manufacturing in Mexico, offering strategic insights and practical solutions. Ricardo's comprehensive guidance helps businesses effectively navigate and capitalize on the opportunities within the Mexican market, making their transition into manufacturing in Mexico a successful venture.
Consul Kelly Moeur
Consul Moeur is a member of the Japan Business Association of Arizona, and member emeritus of Global Chamber.
He was a founding member and past Principal of Arizona Gakuen School. Arizona Gakuen is a non-profit organization that teaches academic subjects in Japanese language to Arizona children.
In 2015, Consul Moeur was recognized by the Government of Japan for service in promoting international friendship and understanding.
Global Chamber® is growing 14 chapters in Japan, building off a long history by founder Doug Bruhnke who lived in Tokyo and traveled to every corner for work.

Mike Patterson helps businesses navigate corporate, compliance and securities matters. Mike also regularly advises U.S. and foreign clients in connection with the establishment, structuring, and compliance for international operations, including the establishment of international distribution networks, in the semiconductor and other industries. Also known as “Miguel” after a decade-long stint living and working in Central America, he reads, writes, speaks, and negotiates in Spanish. Fernando Alba Quiñonez Overseeing mining, industry, and energy within the State of Chihuahua's Secretariat of Innovation and Economic Development, Fernando Alba leverages his diverse private sector experience to drive economic growth. As a former consultant, executive, and partner in aerospace, electronics, automotive, and real estate across Mexico and the U.S., he brings a wealth of practical knowledge and insights to his role.

Ann Huynh - Co-founder and CEO of S3i Inc.
Ann brings her wealth of experience to the semiconductor industry with a focus on international trade and investment in U.S.-ASEAN relations. With a solid background spanning two decades across public, private, and NGO sectors, Ann has been a key player in foreign direct investment and international trade.
In the private sector, Ann served as the Business Development Director for VinFast, the first Vietnamese Electric Vehicle manufacturer in the U.S. Her engagement extended to working with multinational corporations in various industries, encompassing real estate, investment, manufacturing, and all facets of business development. She also co-founded some ventures in e- commerce and residential real estate, providing her with a holistic understanding of the industry.
In the public sector, Ann managed U.S.-Vietnam military cooperation projects at the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam, demonstrating her capability to navigate complex projects – an invaluable skill in the dynamic semiconductor landscape. Her experience includes supervising project management using ODA funds from the World Bank, ADB & other lenders in Vietnam, translating to her adeptness in handling international collaborations and funding mechanisms.
Ann, with an MBA has served as a Board Member of the Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce and the San Antonio Council of International Visitors in Texas. Additionally, Ann held the role of Deputy Director of the NAAPP Leadership Summit in Washington D.C. in 2021 and served as a Board member of the PCA community in Virginia, where she resides with her family.
