Doug Bruhnke - Founder/CEO at Global Chamber

Doug is a global entrepreneur, speaker and author dedicated to helping members of Global Chamber® reach new markets across metros and borders more successfully. In addition we have the opportunity of attracting more leaders to global business, making our world a better place. He's the Founder/CEO of Global Chamber®, operating in 525 metros, 195 countries. He's had a career with DuPont that included expat assignments in Tokyo and Singapore.

Doug has a B.S. Chemical Engineering from University of Utah, with 5 chemical process patents. He also has an Executive MBA Michigan State with 38 years of exporting and global trade experience.

 

Dr. Toby Malichi, Hon.D.Bus., DHL, LHD -  Executive Director at Global Chamber® Indianapolis 

an internationally-recognized, and highly-acclaimed trade advisor, thought leader, influencer, speaker, strategist, global executive coach, and expert deal facilitator. His hard-earned wisdom, sage advice, deep insights, and global business diplomacy expertise on trade and free trade agreements is highly sought after by Multinational small-and-medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), C-level executives, private-sector global business leaders, government officials, and investment groups around the globe. Dr. Malichi dubbed the "Go-To-Guy" for "All Things Trade" by his contemporaries. Former U.S. Chamber of Commerce board director, international policy committee member, and small business council board member).    Dr. Malichi is federally appointed by the U.S. Commerce Secretary, (spanning, four White House Administrations, including present), to the Indiana District Export Council, which is closely affiliated with the U.S. & Foreign Commercial  Service. Dr. Malichi is the immediate-past Vice Chairman (2011-2020). Dr. Malichi was appointed to serve as a U.S. SME Delegate, Advocate, Spokesman and/or Representative for multilateral free trade agreements, dialogues, and roundtables around the globe including over 90% of U.S. Free Trade Agreements to APEC (SME Ministerial Meeting, Canada), ASEAN, WTO, TABD, USTR, and Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), World Economic Forum (WEF), (former board director & executive committee member). Dr. Malichi is a board advisor to the Indiana University (Bloomington) Institute of International Business - Center for International Business Education Research (CIBER). During his tenure at Chevrolet Motor Division, General Motors Corporation. Dr. Malichi as an executive, earned the coveted and prestigious 'GM Corporate Leadership Ring' for the top 2% performer nationally. He is currently a Senior Fellow at the Sagamore Institute, an internationally-recognized 'Think Tank' headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

 

Marc Ortmans - Co-Founder, Chair at Global Entrepreneurship Network UK

Marc has worked across the media industries as a Founder, CEO, Director, Strategist and Creative Director.

As an entrepreneur he has founded several ventures including three creative agencies and two digital businesses. Marc has managed projects for global brands, and teams of 50 people. In addition to his GEN UK role as MD, he consults on brand communications across a wide range of sectors.

Marc started at the BBC and Channel 4 in the UK before co-founding Ortmans Young International and later running multi-national design agency group Button. He helped launch UEFA Champions League, First Direct bank, the Homeless World Cup, and created the first satellite TV brand in UK for Satellite TV, bought by Rupert Murdoch and renamed Sky.

Along the way he picked up a shelf load of awards including BAFTA, D&AD, Paris Citi and New York Festivals. Since 2008, Marc has managed the creation and expansion of the GEW and GEN family of brands. From co-founding GEN UK in 2018 he has led the organisation as Chair and later as Managing Director.  Marc is currently leading the development of community platform, the GEN UK HUB, global startup competition, LeZero Innovation Prize, and net zero innovation conference, Startup Planet.

 

Matt Smith - Vice President at Global Entrepreneurship Network UK

Matt Smith is director of research and policy at the Global Entrepreneurship Network – working with our community connecting entrepreneurs, investors, researchers and policymakers across 180 countries.

Matt has worked at the heart of the UK’s world-leading entrepreneurial ecosystem since 2008, first as co-founder of student entrepreneur charity NACUE, and most recently as co-founder of think tank and entrepreneurship foundation The Centre for Entrepreneurs (CFE), where he remains a senior fellow responsible for CFE’s incubator and refugee entrepreneurship networks.

Matt helped launch the European Startup Network in 2016 and from 2020 has served on the board of the National Enterprise Network – connecting enterprise agencies across the UK. He has been a Great British Entrepreneur Awards judge since 2014.
