This 5th Global Chamber® Semiconductor Summit builds on the past 4 years including 5 programs that included the 4th Summit in 2025 and our Pre-Semicon West Session in October, 2025. In 2025 Global Chamber® featured Stan Shih of Acer and board director at TSMC here. In 2026 we're featuring leaders with knowledge and connections to help attendees connect in for success.

We have designed an innovative and informative 4+ hour program with three sections of time built in for leaders to connect. International students from ASU will support the connecting process - thank you Ban Faris! We'll also have prep information available on the market opportunities AHEAD of the event, so attendees will be ready to learn and connect for success on topics including USMCA.

Attend via zoom or in-person (401 N 1st Street). Parking is available at street meters all around the downtown ASU campus. There are many spots available at this time of day, and it’s at the regular rate of $3/hr. Also consider the parking garages nearby, which are $20. The AZ Republic Parking is adjacent to the building, though remember that you'll need to come around to the 1st Street side via Polk Street for the main entrance to Thunderbird.

Speaker Biographies  

 

Senator Mark Kelly

Senator Kelly is the son of two police officers, and he attended public schools from elementary school through the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. As a naval aviator, he served on the aircraft carrier the U.S.S. Midway and flew 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm. Senator Kelly was later selected as an astronaut in 1996 in the same class as his twin brother Scott. He flew his first of four missions into space in 2001 aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour and retired from the Navy and NASA after commanding the final flight of Endeavour in 2011. Senator Kelly was sworn into his Senate seat on December 2, 2020 to finish the term of the late Senator John McCain. He lives in Tucson with his wife, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords.

 

Mayor Kate Gallego

Since her early days serving Phoenix on the City Council, Kate has been focused on creating the Phoenix of the future: a welcoming, thriving city with ample high-wage jobs and opportunities for all. 

As mayor, Kate spends every day focused on getting things done for Phoenix families. The results speak for themselves: Kate brought a historic $165 billion semiconductor manufacturing plant to Phoenix that’s creating thousands of great-paying career paths; she built coalitions to deliver critical improvements to parks, public safety, and city infrastructure; and she is partnering with ASU to build a brand-new medical school in downtown Phoenix. 

Kate is the second elected woman mayor in Phoenix history and one of the youngest big city mayors in the nation. She graduated from Harvard and holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. Though serving Phoenicians keeps her days busy and her heart full, her favorite job is being Michael’s mom.

  

Matt Salmon

Matt Salmon is a Special Advisor on International Affairs at ASU. Formerly, he represented the 5th District of Arizona for five terms in Congress. Matt served three terms before honoring a self-imposed term limit and leaving Congress in 2000, at which time he worked as a consultant to ASU on matters related to education policy. He returned to Congress in 2012 and was re-elected in 2014 and retired in 2016.Salmon was a member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, serving as chairman of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, and as chairman of the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific. In that capacity he has led numerous delegations to China.

From 1977 to 1979 Matt lived in Taiwan as a Mormon missionary and speaks fluent Mandarin. During his tenure in Congress, he introduced several pieces of legislation to expand Taiwan’s international stature, such as the bill to include Taiwan in Interpol. In 2017, Matt joined GTI’s delegation to Taiwan for a conference with Taiwan Think Thank. Matt graduated from ASU in 1981 and holds a Master’s of Public Administration from Brigham Young University.

 

Tracey Latham - Founder/CEO at Latham Industries 

Tracey Latham is founder and CEO of Latham Industries, a perfect example of how innovative thinking can create incredible products. Tracey brought over 25 years of industry experience before forming her own business in 2016. Latham Industries is a woman-owned and operated electronics contract manufacturer based in Phoenix specializing in printed circuit board assembly. Her business supports semiconductor, aerospace, commercial, medical, military industries... startups to large businesses.

Tracey launched the company from scratch with state-of-the-art equipment recognizing that some area electronic contract manufacturers were losing business because they were running with technology that was more than a decade old. To ensure Latham Industries stays current, Tracey is a member of Global Chamber, Arizona Technology Council and additional leading organizations, and has secured several industry certifications including ISO 9001 and 13485.

In 2022, Tracey participated in ASU’s SMB Lab program which is a first-of-its-kind initiative connecting Arizona’s small and medium sized businesses with ASU’s faculty and students, business leaders and development professionals. She continues working with ASU providing her guidance and expertise as the owner of a successful small business.

Tracey was recognized as the Arizona Small Business Person of the Year in 2022 by the Small Business Administration and is a two-time recipient of the Arizona Womens Education and Employment Faces of Success award.  In her spare time, Tracey gives back to the community in several ways as an active volunteer in a variety of charitable organizations including serving on the boards for Homeless Engagement Lift Partnership (HELP) and the U & Improved Leadership Foundation.

 

Jevin D. Hodge - Founder & CEO at Amplify Global Impact Group

Jevin D. Hodge is the Founder & CEO of Amplify Global Impact Group, a mission-driven consulting firm transforming institutions, communities, and businesses through strategic engagement, public affairs, and impact-focused leadership. With deep experience across government, business, and the nonprofit sector, Hodge is known for bridging sectors to drive sustainable change, foster inclusive growth, and elevate underrepresented voices. 

In Arizona, Hodge is President of the East Valley NAACP—one of the nation’s largest NAACP chapters, representing a region of 2.2 million people—where he advances racial equity, youth empowerment, and economic mobility. He also serves as the President and CEO of the Booker T. Washington Child Development Center, Arizona’s longest-running Head Start provider, supporting nearly 1,000 families across 35 sites. In addition, he is President of Larry Thomas Youth Development, investing in mentorship and leadership pathways for young people.

Internationally, Hodge serves as Chairman of the Festival of the Diaspora, a global convening of changemakers driving innovation and equity across the Americas. He also chairs the Rolling Sea Action Fund, a national PAC launched after his historic congressional campaign, focused on supporting Black candidates and civic engagement. 

 

Carol Colombo - Co-founder and Co-Managing Member at Fedelta Partners; Chair at Arizona District Export Council.

Ms. Colombo is a co-founder and co-managing member of Fedelta Partners, an Arizona-based management company that oversees the private investment holdings primarily of its members, with sector specific focus on real estate, secured debt portfolios and operating businesses in the technology, health and energy sectors. 

She is also the CEO of Alert GPS, a technology company that provides sector-leading safety solutions to the enterprise and consumer markets and provides core-alerting technology to state law enforcement for issuing Amber Alerts.

Ms. Colombo has been an investor in, and officer and director of, numerous entities. She co-founded Colombo & Bonacci, P.C. (1992), a boutique law firm specializing in international business law. She co-founded Pivotal Research Centers and helped build it into one of the largest private clinical research organizations in the US prior to its successful sale to a publicly traded company in 2005. She sits on the board of directors of PYX Health, where she served as board chair from 2017 until 2023.

Ms. Colombo contributes her time to advance international trade and economic development objectives. She is (since 1994) the State of Arizona’s liaison to the United States Trade Representative’s Office (USTR). She has advised many past administrations in Arizona regarding international trade and economic development. Ms. Colombo has lobbied and helped obtain state and federal funding for trade, transportation and economic development initiatives that have been implemented throughout North America. 

She is the current Chair of the Arizona District Export Council, a past-president of the Arizona Mexico Commission, past Co-Chair of the Governor’s CANAMEX Task Force, and past Chair of the National Law Center for International Free Trade. Ms. Colombo served as a member of the Trade and Transportation Corridor Alliance, and in that role completed development of Arizona’s statewide foreign direct investment framework. She received the Outstanding International Business Leader Award for the State of Arizona (United States Department of Commerce 1993) and the Governor’s Award for Outstanding Service (June 2006). She received the Women of M2M Industry Leadership Award (2013) and was awarded the Trilateral Trade Champion award by the City of Phoenix (2021).

 

Dr. Prady Gupta - Founder & Chief Scientist at Infinita Lab and Infinita Materials

Dr. Pradyumna (Prady) Gupta is Founder and Chief Scientist at Infinita Lab and Infinita Materials, pioneering advancements in materials testing and specialized chemicals for cutting-edge industries. A passionate advocate for onshoring critical manufacturing industries, such as semiconductors, back to America, Prady is dedicated to fostering innovation that strengthens domestic supply chains and reinforces technological sovereignty.

At Infinita Lab— “Uber of Materials Testing”—Dr. Gupta leads a network of over 2,000 labs that deliver solutions in metrology, materials testing, product validation, and ASTM/ISO standardized testing. Through Infinita Materials, he provides specialized chemicals and materials that power critical applications across semiconductors, electric vehicles, aerospace, and emerging technologies.

Prady’s career includes key roles at Saint-Gobain and Corning’s Gorilla Glass commercialization team. He co-founded multiple successful startups. An accomplished scientist, Prady holds several patents and has authored numerous research papers in materials science.

He holds an MBA from INSEAD / Wharton and a PhD in Materials Science, combining deep technical expertise with strategic business acumen. Prady’s entrepreneurial and scientific leadership continues to bridge today’s industrial needs with the innovations required to solve the challenges of tomorrow.

 

Mike Patterson - Partner at Spencer Fane

Mike Patterson helps businesses navigate corporate, compliance and securities matters. He has extensive experience in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, equity and debt offerings, foreign direct investment, distribution, agency and licensing matters, and market entry strategies. He efficiently resolves legal matters by identifying key issues, focusing resources, and executing on a plan.

Mike also regularly advises U.S. and foreign clients in connection with the establishment, structuring, and compliance for international operations, including the establishment of international distribution networks, in the semiconductor and other industries. Also known as “Miguel” after a decade-long stint living and working in Central America, he reads, writes, speaks, and negotiates in Spanish. In addition, he has done legal work for clients in Canada, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

  

Alexandria (Lexie) Van Haren, MGM, C.M.

Air Service Development and Marketing Administrator - Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport

Lexie Van Haren has over 20 years of experience in aviation, public relations, government affairs, marketing, leadership development, and tourism. As Air Service Development & Marketing Administrator for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, she manages airline and destination partnerships, supporting nonstop service to 149 destinations, including 24 international markets, and contributing to the airport’s USD 38 billion annual statewide economic impact. She serves as Vice Chair of the International Air Service Steering Committee for Airports Council International and holds leadership roles with the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, Canadian Arizona Business Council, Global Ties Arizona, and the Tempe Tourism Office. Ms. Van Haren holds an Executive Master’s of Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and is a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives, with an undergraduate degree in International Business & Marketing.

 

Dr. Peter Wonsok Yun - Executive Director of Global Chamber S. Korea

Commissioner, Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ), Policy Advisor, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Korea, Executive Director, Global Chamber Seoul (and Busan, Daegu, Daejeon and Gwanju), CEO and Founder, Meta Globe Corp, Co Chair, Global Korea Business Forum (Korean National Assembly)

Dr. Yun is Executive Director of Global Chamber Korea, with 5 main chapters. He is CEO of Meta Globe and Co-Chair of Global Korea Business Forum. He is an expert in Market Intelligence, Presidential Economic Diplomacy: Trade Development and Trade Show, In-Out bound Investment including M&A.

Dr. Yun has successfully served international posts such as Deputy Director of KOTRA Miami, U.S. (1991-1994); Head of Commercial Section (KOTRA) of Korean Embassy Nairobi, Kenya (1998-2001); Chief Trade Commissioner of KOTRA Vancouver, Canada (2003-2007); Head of KOTRA Busan, Korea (2008-2009), Chief Trade Commissioner of KOTRA, Los Angeles (2010-2012). He holds Phd. in Business Administration from Sungkyunkwan University. Dr. Yun was awarded the Order of Industrial Service Merit from President of Korea.

 

Stan Shih

Stan Shih is Co-founder and Honorary Chairman at Acer, and a Director since July, 1979. Mr. Shih is a Member of the Board at TSMC and Nan Shan Life Insurance. He's also Representative Director for Hung Rouan Investment Corp., and a Member of the Investment Committee at Acer.

Mr. Shih co-founded Acer in 1976 under the name Multitech, and served as Chairman and CEO until his initial retirement in 2004. He returned in November 2013 to help lead Acer through its third corporate transformation. In June 2014 he stepped away from the daily operations and became Honorary Chairman.

A social entrepreneur, Mr. Shih now serves as Chairman of the StanShih Foundation. In social and public services, he is Chairman of the Cloud Gate Culture and Arts Foundation, and convener of the Cultural Tech Alliance, Taiwan. He is also a member of the board at the Public Television Service Foundation and the Chinese Television System. Mr. Shih has received numerous accolades, including Businessweek’s “25 Top Managers of the Year”, and was featured in TIME in the article “60 years of Asian Heroes”. 

 

Melissa Mannino, Partner, BakerHostetler

Melissa Mannino, co-leader of the International Trade and National Security team and a Chambers ranked attorney, is an experienced export controls, foreign investment (CFIUS) and economic sanctions practitioner. Her broad based national security practice includes advising a range of companies, from start-ups to industry leading businesses, across a variety of sectors on compliance with the U.S. export control and economic sanctions laws and regulations and the CFIUS laws and regulations. She also represents clients through each stage of proceedings before the U.S. Departments of Commerce, Treasury and State on export control, CFIUS and sanctions matters.

Melissa previously served as the Chief of the Enforcement and Litigation Division, Office of Chief Counsel for Industry and Security, at the U.S. Department of Commerce. She leverages her government and private practice experience to provide strategic and practical legal advice to clients.

 

Mary Rabago - Mary Rabago Productions

With a career spanning over 30 years in various media companies nationally and internationally, Mary Rábago has become a very well-known and respected public figure, a multi-award winning journalist. Born in Sonora, Mexico, Mary Rábago was the main news anchor of Univision Arizona as well as Univision California. Serving as correspondent for national shows such as “Noticiero Univision” and “Primer Impacto”. She is one of the “Top 10” Hispanic women with more media presence on both sides of the United States and Mexico border.

With a long list of regional and national awards for her career, she has displayed great versatility embracing every role from journalist, news anchor, reporter, producer and writer. For over a decade, Mary Rábago has taken on a new role, that of entrepreneur, opening “Mary Rabago Productions” a Marketing Agency that has already garnered national attention for their creative solutions. She has been recognized by Latina Style Magazine as Entrepreneur of the year, Cox Communication as entrepreneur of the year and Outstanding Women in Business by the Phoenix Business Journal in her short career as an entrepreneur.

 

Fernando Garcia - Executive Vice President of International Trade and Investment, Arizona Commerce Authority

Fernando Garcia serves as Executive Vice President of International Trade and Investment at the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), leading the state’s global strategy for trade, foreign direct investment (FDI), and early-stage ventures. He oversees Arizona’s network of international offices across Mexico, Canada, Europe, Israel, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and Romania — advancing Arizona’s position as North America’s hub for AI-driven trade, semiconductors, and advanced manufacturing leadership.

Mr. Garcia was appointed by ACA President & CEO to serve as delegate to the Arizona-Mexico Commission (AMC), where he co-leads the Economic Development Committee and drives binational collaboration to strengthen Arizona’s global competitiveness. A graduate of the University of Arizona’s Master of Public Administration program, Mr. Garcia also serves on the Advisory Board of the Arizona Association for Economic Development and is a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, leading Marines in aviation logistics operations.

 

Robert Quinn - Semiconductor Industry Influencer and Evangelist

Robert Quinn is a recognized Semiconductor Industry Expert, Influencer, and Evangelist with more than 25 years of experience in equipment and process engineering. As the founder of Quinns Media, he delivers incisive insights into the ever-evolving semiconductor ecosystem, spotlighting daily shifts in business and technology. Garnering over 11 million annual impressions on his LinkedIn articles, Robert has established himself as a trusted voice within the industry.

An engaging and accomplished speaker, he captivates audiences—from 6th graders to CEOs—by demystifying complex semiconductor technologies. His presentations have resonated globally at government organizations, universities, and premier industry events. Through storytelling and thought leadership, Robert not only fosters innovation but also champions technological progress, continually shaping the future of semicon tech.

 

Arno Merkle, Ph.D - Co-founder and CEO, Crystal Sonic, Inc.

Arno Merkle, Co-founder and CEO of Crystal Sonic is an accomplished leader in the capital equipment and deep tech industries. With a robust background leading product teams and business development at renowned technology companies including Carl Zeiss, Tescan, Xradia, and XRE, Arno has been instrumental in shaping the landscape of advanced electron- and X-ray microscopy systems across various sectors. His strategic contributions led to successful exits at startups Xradia in 2013 and XRE in 2018. Arno holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University (2007) and resides in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife.

  

Michael N. Kozicki, Ph.D., FNAI - Co-founder of Densec ID

Michael Kozicki joined Arizona State University in 1985 from the semiconductor industry and is currently Professor and Graduate Program Chair in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering and Senior Global Futures Scientist at ASU. His research, which has been cited nearly 17,000 times, focuses on the development of novel materials, processes, and devices in applications ranging from information storage to digital identity. He has over 70 US and several dozen international patents granted, which have led to commercialized technologies including Conductive Bridging Random Access Memory (CBRAM), achievements which resulted in his election as a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors in 2015. In 2021, Dr. Kozicki co-founded Densec ID LLC, an ASU spin-out company that was formed to develop and commercialize Dendritic Identifier oracle technology for supply chain transparency and track-and-trace applications in markets ranging from agri-food to microelectronics.

 

Akihiko Oma - Director at NuFlare Technology; Former President/CEO at Toshiba America

Akihiko Oma has taken a leadership role with NuFlare Technology. Previously he held the role of president and CEO for Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC) based in Irvine, California, with world HQ in Tokyo, Japan. Under his leadership, TAEC has focused on expanding Toshiba’s HDD, discrete semiconductor and system LSI businesses in key application areas such as IoT, in-vehicle systems, data center, automotive and industrial.

As a 35-year Toshiba veteran, Mr. Oma has held a variety of management, planning, marketing, and sales positions, including his prior role of senior vice president of planning and operations at TAEC. During Mr. Oma's six year tenure with Toshiba Electronics Asia, Ltd. in Hong Kong, his responsibilities included managing the intricacies of Toshiba’s international operations for electronic components. He then returned to Japan to manage global planning for Toshiba's semiconductor business, developing the strategy and direction for the company's global sales and marketing teams.  He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree as a graduate from Waseda University in Japan.

 

Consul Kelly Moeur

Consul Moeur is a member of the Japan Business Association of Arizona, and member emeritus of Global Chamber.

He was a founding member and past Principal of Arizona Gakuen School. Arizona Gakuen is a non-profit organization that teaches academic subjects in Japanese language to Arizona children.

In 2015, Consul Moeur was recognized by the Government of Japan for service in promoting international friendship and understanding.
