Compliance is often seen as a requirement and as a cost of doing business, for which the needs and implications are regularly misunderstood. SMBs have unique struggles with compliance, as they perceive their risks as low and the costs as high. Additionally, SMBs oftentimes aren’t cybersecurity-savvy enough to identify all their risk points, let alone index all the stakeholders.  And even when SMBs have a strong understanding of all this, they may not have a clear overview of all the implications and will therefore lack a good process through which to evaluate risks by importance and impact.  All this lack of clarity drives inertia.  This interactive session will address the promises and perils of cybersecurity and compliance by exploring what risks to pursue and what risks to avoid in the design of the SMB cybersecurity program.

Takeaways will include an exploration of what compliance and its significance is; an exploration of Best Practices and industry standards that help balance compliance and cybersecurity for SMBs; how to approach designing and deploying an integrated program for cybersecurity and compliance that drives business success, and; Trends in compliance and cybersecurity objectives for SMBs.  This session is interactive, accompanied by a Q&A.
