When Students Cross Borders in a Youth Exchange, They Are Forever Changed, and Everything Is Possible!

Young people will make the world a better place, we're sure of it! And programs like Sister Cities International Youth Ambassadors make a long-term investment in students who get to see another country, stay with a host family, and create connections for life.

"Global Chamber was pleased today to host a group of 52 young people who have nearly completed their summer exchange program... either here in the U.S. and from another country sister city, or an American who has spent time in one of those sister cities abroad", said Doug Bruhnke, CEO/founder of Global Chamber.

"Phoenix Sister Cities is an award-winning chapter of Sister Cities International, and these youth represent some of the best and brightest of our future", said Hank Marshall, Chief Economic Development Executive for the City of Phoenix. "Their cross-border experience is often a first step in a career that involves some sort of global involvement."

Sister Cities youth ambassador programs share experiences in international affairs and citizen diplomacy. Sister city exchanges are often the first opportunity that youth have to travel abroad, and the experience of being a guest rather than a tourist is a unique opportunity that helps them develop cross-cultural competence and maturity. These exchanges are often described by participants as “a life-changing experience,” and many current leaders in international affairs or diplomacy can trace their interest to their first sister city exchange.

Global Chamber is committed to helping companies grow globally. Along the way we invest in programs that build connections across borders - both short and long-term.
