Business Across Borders Grows Global Engagement

Rep. Ruben Gallego and Other Leaders Discuss the Value of Leadership in the World

Global Chamber® is a unique, growing and collaborating community of CEOs, executives and leaders in 525 metro regions around the world... everywhere... focused on growing business. We're the ONLY organization in the world with hundreds of locations that helps executives grow their company through warm connections.

In addition to the commercial benefits, behind everything we do is the belief that business connections across borders builds connectivity, engagement and understanding between people of different cultures. And so it was with great pleasure that Global Chamber® was a partner for the recent event by the United States Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC): "Why Global Leadership Matters".

"American leadership should not be a partisan issue. Engaging with the world and strategically shaping the global environment strengthens America’s position when and if U.S. servicemembers must be deployed," said Senator Kyrsten Sinema, keynote speaker.

In additional to two military leaders, the key speakers on this luncheon dedicated to global engagement were Senator Sinema, Mayor Kate Gallego and U.S. Representative Ruben Gallego.

All three leaders discussed the importance of what Senator Sinema described as 'strategic investment', which she went on to say was important to both avoid sending the military into regions of the world and to mitigate issues if that was required. Rather than describing this as 'foreign aid', her view is that these investments to alleviate poverty and reduce other drivers of dissension across the globe release regional pressures that can cause uprisings.

In the same ways, business across borders creates bridges of commerce and understanding across every border. In addition business creates a legion of leaders who can speak to politicians about the value of engagement. That's important if and when issues arise and politicians start to decide what to do next. Having cool and calm business minds as part of that process is invaluable.
