2020 was in general a terrible year for the world. Good riddance!
Not all our friends, family and business acquaintances made it through. In fact the pandemic caused a higher death rate for the year, along with a higher failure rate in business. Let's not ever forget.
On the positive side, most of our members made it through, and some even thrived.
Global Chamber® continued our rapid growth, and the pandemic confirmed that our virtual model is valued worldwide. We're growing in 525 metros, with now at least one member in 525 metros.
So we thought it would be good to pause and reflect on what's working well at Global Chamber® and where we need to focus more effort based on what we learned and what you're still telling us. We appreciate your feedback!
- Adding value for members. This is what truly matters. We did much better on this in 2020 because we've always embraced 'virtual' support, and that's what was needed by our members throughout the year. Our focusing in on AI-aided warm introductions along with virtual events has helped our members and us survive and thrive... let's keep it going! We're rededicating ourselves to making more progress in these two main areas.
- Metro meetups help members connect. Thanks to Tal Zilberberg of Global Chamber® Tel Aviv, Israel we learned that regional meetup globinars across metros are valued by members. And so while these virtual meetups were only occasionally done before 2020, we added more throughout 2020 and now these have become a key part of our value proposition, connecting members to clients and trusted resources nearly daily.
- Keep growing in 525 metros. We're quite literally now EVERYWHERE, and we plan to accelerate filling in new chapter leaders around the world to better support our growing membership. Read more on who we're looking for within each chapter HERE and reach out if you know someone. Our members and team are successful, honest, capable, well-connected, multi-tasking leaders who make it easy for others to work with them.
- Virtual isn't going away. Our mission has always been to make cross metro and border business as easy as growing across the street, and so we embrace the world's interest in zoom and other virtual techniques that improve our business and growth productivity. We are redoubling our efforts to keep our virtual techniques expanding, valuable and hopefully not mind-numbingly boring... let's keep things interesting!
- Our deepest gratitude for your support! Year-end greetings this year were particularly poignant in their overwhelming appreciation for our worldwide team and how we work hard, stay responsive and keep making progress. We're not close to perfect but we are dedicated to member success, and it means the world to us that so many of you say good things about us to others in the business community. We love you, global tribe!
Thank you to all our members around the world for making 2020 a successful year for us. Your support and inspiration keeps us working hard to add more and more value along the way.
Thank you as well to all our collaborators... it takes a village. We appreciate that you view the world with a sense of abundance as we do.
Now let's make 2021 the best year ever for all of us in the global tribe! We've already got our mind on more growth for members, metro by metro.
We're in this for the long-term. So when we look back in 5, 10 and more years, we hopefully will say that we pivoted successfully in 2021 by keeping our eyes on continually adding more value for members through AI, other technologies and working hard.
By the way, we're looking for some good people as we grow, read more.
