When we see other organizations helping companies grow globally, we rejoice and seek to collaborate.
However when we see other organizations using our name and intellectual property, we feel violated. And by the way, the same is true for any member's intellectual property. We protect that as if it were our own, as we help them grow around the world. It's critically important.
Imitation it's said is the highest form of flattery. Using another company's intellectual property is theft. Theft is not ethical or professional. Theft hurts global trade.
When we learned of some other organizations using our name and service marks, it hurts. One even used our name AND tagline. Wow. This forces us to take action.
GLOBAL CHAMBER is a registered, incontestable service mark owned by Global Chamber LLC (U.S. Reg. No. 4,579,399), in full force and effect. There are thousands of chambers of commerce. There is ONE Global Chamber®.
We've been using Global Chamber® and our tagline Be global and UNSTOPPABLE!℠ since 2013.
The marks were officially documented publicly in our launch event at Thunderbird School of Global Management on October 21, 2014 HERE.
Usage began prior to that date, and this is not a complete list of all our intellectual property.
The services of Global Chamber® reach thousands of organizational members worldwide and millions of people within our global community - in every city and country. We're everywhere, HERE.
While Global Chamber® collaborates peacefully within the international business community around the world, we cannot consent to the unauthorized use of our service marks. We'll reach out to groups that are violating our registered marks in order for them to take corrective action. Protecting laws everywhere helps make global business anywhere easier. And brands matter. It's key to our success and that of our members, too.
This means that the word combination 'Global Chamber...' can not be used on Linkedin, on Facebook, on Clubhouse, on the web or in social media in our service category, except if it is an authorized usage approved by Global Chamber®.
Apologies to our members who can from time to time be impacted by this because besides our own property to be taken, their intellectual property can be stolen, too. Speak to an attorney who can help you with not only your products/services within your own country, but also help you in any country where you work or plan to work. We can recommend some good IP attorneys to you ;-)
In the meantime, members and prospective members may need to take a moment to confirm that the Global Chamber® leader you're speaking with is in fact an authorized representative of the one and only Global Chamber®.
Our members think that Global Chamber® is a pretty nifty idea, and we'll do what we can to protect them, our name and global business.
