Neema Mleli - Global Chamber Tanzania & Integrated Empowerment Initiative

Neema Mleli is a passionate advocate dedicated to driving change in health and global issues. With extensive experience in health system strengthening, program management, research projects, and community development, Neema has consistently demonstrated a commitment to improving the well-being of children, youth, and women. Her work is fueled by a deep belief in the power of collaboration and community engagement to create lasting impact.

As an entrepreneur on a mission, Neema empowers women and youth through her leadership roles in organizations like Integrated Empowerment Initiatives (IEI) and Africhen Company Tanzania. She also leads a dynamic leadership program designed to equip young people with the skills and confidence needed to become future leaders in sustainable development. Her expertise is evident in the innovative programs she designs and implements, addressing critical challenges in economic development, entrepreneurship, and export readiness.

Mondi Godfrey - Global Advisor

International Trade and Investment Specialist | Co-Founder and CEO Malmor Group | Founder Maendeleo Institute Africa (MIA)

A highly skilled trade and investment specialist with extensive expertise in designing and executing policy advocacy interventions for manufacturing, cross-border investment international trade. As a senior policy analyst - international trade and investment at the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF), he plays a key role in shaping policy advocacy and capacity-building initiatives that aim to enhance both domestic and foreign investment, increase exports, and accelerate the growth of the manufacturing sector.

Mondi also serves on several committees, including the National and Regional Non-Tariff Barriers Monitoring Committees, the Regional Trade Facilitation Committee, and the EAC-EABC Technical Working Group. He is also the Secretary of the Market Access Working Group established under the US—Tanzania Commercial Dialogue.

Mondi is also a Co-Founder and CEO of the newly established Malmor Group owning over 1900 acres of arable land in Central Tanzania.

 

 

Advisory Board Members

Naidu Katuri

Mr. Katuri has over 25 years of progressive experience in Organizational Development, Technology Transfer, Business Transformation and Program Management. He led/participated in over 100 client engagements with variable levels of business complexity and conducted business assessments, benchmarked organizational performance, prescribed and implemented strategies for operational excellence, improved overall productivity that produced positive bottom-line results.

Mr. Katuri was the former Director of the Technology Transfer Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. During his tenure at the University Mr. Katuri directed the operations of a nationally recognized Manufacturing Extension Center affiliated with the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and assisted many small and medium size manufacturing and business enterprise improve overall operations thus contributed to the company bottom-line. Substantial economic development efforts made by the Institute to the regional economy that contributed to the University in receiving the 2001 Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award (the highest Quality Award Presented in the United States). Subsequently Mr. Katuri managed similar operations in Arizona the Arizona Manufacturing Extension Partnership (Arizona MEP). Mr. Katuri also worked as a Senior Consultant in the Electronics and Discrete Manufacturing Industry Sector group of the IBM Global Consulting Practice. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership (WMEP) and the Northwest Wisconsin Manufacturing Outreach Center (NWMOC). Mr. Katuri is currently the Principal at Productivity Solutions, LLC. a Management Consulting firm based in Scottsdale, Arizona and also serves as the Director of Vignan Educational Foundation-Tanzania in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and represents on the Boards of its affiliated institutions the International Medical and Technological University (IMTU) and the Vignan Institute of Science and Technology (VIST).

Mr. Katuri holds a B.S degree in Industrial Technology and an M.S degree in Management Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. He was a recipient of the Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and have received numerous regional and national economic development awards.

 

Dr. Monica Hangi - Executive Leader | International Trade Expert | Project Management & Programme Delivery | Women and Youth Empowerment | Board and Advisory Leadership

Monica Hangi is purpose-driven, innovative and an inspired leader in bringing change and impact. She is a knowledgeable trade and development expert with 17 years of experience in strategic leadership & governance, planning and delivery of trade facilitation initiatives in the East African region, and in delivering transformative solutions in partnership with Governments and agencies from the private sector.

A results-driven individual with a strong delivery record; experienced in strategic networking, fundraising, and stakeholder management. A dynamic leader with experience in strategy development, team management, and in managing political dynamics and engagements for robust programming. Monica is very instrumental towards informed decision-making with strong problem solving skills.

Currently working with TradeMark Africa (TMA), an aid-for-trade organisation that supports growth and prosperity in Africa through increased trade, as Regional Director for the East and Central Africa region, overseeing programme delivery in 6 countries (Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Burundi and South Sudan).

 

Ebonie Mbeteni - Founder | CEO | Vice Chairman, American Chamber of Commerce Board Tanzania

Ebonie was born and raised right outside Washington D.C (USA Capital). Growing up (through her involvement in the family business), she got to learn & experience first hand the functions of the largest employer in America (the USA Central government). She became a Bank Manager at Bank of America (one of the largest banks in the world) at the age of 27 (the 2nd youngest in the region) leading a low performing bank to the top 3 in the region. Over the past 26 years, Madam Ebonie has been a proud stay at home Mom for 13 years. During that time she founded companies, managed and facilitated professional training programs and strategically sold several successful small businesses while employing over 200 employees at the height of one of her companies. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from IUP (USA). Ebonie also serves as Madam Vice Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Tanzania.
 
As a female led, family operated and black owned small business owner in a male dominated industry she has led her company to partner with and provide service to some of the biggest companies, organizations and government agencies in Tanzania and America. Within 6 months of creating her company in Tanzania she was leading training with the top 40 companies in Tanzania, featured in the local newspaper, interviewed by media for her accomplishments and grew her company into two flourishing departments in less than a year. She grew her company to include clients such as:

Her experience with the Small Business Administration and Small Business Development Center in the U.S. led her to be a champion and advocate for SME's.
Madam Ebonie has been recognized by her peers and colleagues in the business world for her accomplishments and has earned awards and recognition such as:

One of her most notable accomplishments was being recommended by the U.S. Embassy to coordinate and lead a cross cultural project to bring the sport of tennis to the middle of the Serengeti with tennis legends John and Patrick McEnroe. This goodwill sportsmanship initiative allowed Duteni to expand their portfolio to include high level VIP guest and groups for cultural immersion initiatives and experiences. Madam Ebonie is always looking to build relationships and continue to expand the mission of Duteni. It's not our differences that separate us, it's what we have in common that connects us.
