Cliff is a founder of Bay Group Limited, is a consultancy and investment firm specializing in the area of, business development, enterprises start up and international developments projects and offering clients a complete range of services in the sector.

Derek Bbanga

Global Advisor at Global Chamber® Nairobi

Derek is a Regional Director with the Alpha Group where he helps SME owners solve difficult challenges, evaluate opportunities and develop effective strategies for better professional and business performance. As an entrepreneur himself, Derek knows the highs and lows that come with running your own business and has the receipts to prove it! He says, “I love passing on tried and true advice I’ve picked up along the way to help others grow the businesses of their dreams.” Whether the question is operational, financial, or even personal, the Alpha Group provides wisdom, perspective and accountability to help executives make better decisions.

Derek is also an executive trainer, coach and facilitator with his company Public Image supporting organizations and individuals for high performance. He has trained and worked with hundreds of individuals and teams, helping leaders, professionals and entrepreneurs increase their earning potential. He truly enjoys helping people and filling the gap between where they are now, and where they want to be in terms of emotional intelligence, leadership, communication and executive presence skills.

Derek is a multiple TEDx speaker and a contributor in the media giving advice on being seen, heard and remembered for the right reasons. He is a certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner with Genos International. He worked as Financial Analyst with Bloomberg in New York and a Risk Analyst with the Edhec Risk Institute in France. He was Communications Strategist with the London based consultancy africapractice. Derek is a keynote speaker at conferences and a corporate host and moderator. He is an ambassador with the Pan African Advocacy Group Africa 2.0 and a qualified fitness instructor.

Emmanuel Maingi

Global Advisory at Global Chamber® Nairobi

Emmanuel Maingi is the founder of Athena Consulting, a human capital and human resources consulting and advisory firm based in Nairobi, Kenya. With over 14 years of professional experience, he leads on training and development for both private and public sector institutions. He is Global Advisor and immediate past Executive Director of the Global Chamber® Nairobi. He is also the incoming Chair of the Board of Directors for a grassroot mobility startup, Araka.

Prior to Athena Consulting and Global Chamber®, Emmanuel worked for UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), Department for International Trade (DIT), as an International Trade Advisor covering Automotive, ICT, Defense & Space and Education & Training covering the East African region. In 2019 – 2020, he consulted for Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GMCC) on ease of doing business in Sub Saharan Africa.
