Barbara Engelbart McKenzie - Executive Director

Ms. McKenzie is a change maker and disruptor. She has over 30 years’ experience in leadership, entrepreneurship and corporate growth, and strategic disruption. She is CEO and Founder of Ignition CEO, a venture that provides support to build and grow a new generation of business leaders and CEOs. She is also the Managing Director of DB McKenzie Group and the Executive Director of the Global Chamber, Alberta Chapter.
Ms. McKenzie has an Executive MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and a Diploma in Marketing from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. She holds several certifications in corporate governance, project management and economic development.
Ms. McKenzie is known for her innovative thinking, with a passion for disruption and a deep passion for community. She has been involved in technology and innovation, economic development, banking, social enterprise, justice, and pensions sectors throughout her career, focusing on corporate change management as well as start up and scaling ventures. Ms. McKenzie has led several of her own successful entrepreneurial ventures. She also currently instructs a course on Innovation and Intrapreneurship at her alma mater the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Ms. McKenzie also gives back to her community and is currently the board chair of the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton and a board director and chair of the Governance Committee, with the Canadian Council of Indigenous Business, and a board director with Lift Impact Partners. She held the role of co-chair for the Edmonton Regional Innovation Network, was member of the Red Deer Polytechnic Centre for Innovation in Manufacturing (CIMTAC) advisory board and is the past chair of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology School of Business Entrepreneurship Program Advisory Committee. She is a seasoned public speaker and has won awards for many of her initiatives and projects.

Sukhi Grewal is an experienced executive, investor, entrepreneur, and finance leader who has worked with both private and public companies across sectors such as healthcare, life sciences, agriculture, clean technology, and emerging technologies. She has held leadership roles as CEO, CFO, and strategic advisor, helping companies navigate capital strategy, corporate transformation, and international growth.
Leveraging her executive leadership, private equity expertise, and entrepreneurial experience, Sukhi collaborates with venture-backed companies, investors, and global partners to drive commercialization and develop sustainable growth strategies at the intersection of capital markets, research, and technology.
Sukhi is the co-founder and CEO of NexGen Wellness Ltd., a cutting-edge HealthTech company at the forefront of developing innovative solutions to improve overall health and well-being. Through a diverse range of products, NexGen Wellness is dedicated to enhancing quality of life by integrating advanced technology to address critical health challenges.

Marcela Mandeville

Marcela Mandeville is a seasoned leader and independent consultant with over two decades of experience in international business, entrepreneurship, and economic development. Known for her collaborative spirit and strategic mindset, Marcela works with organizations to unlock inclusive economic growth, elevate diverse voices, and build resilient, innovation-driven ecosystems.
Previously serving as CEO of Alberta Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), Marcela played a pivotal role in expanding access to capital, mentorship, and education for women in business. Under her leadership, AWE delivered transformative programming that empowered thousands of women entrepreneurs and positioned the organization as a national thought leader in inclusive entrepreneurship. Her work has been instrumental in shifting the narrative around women’s economic participation and amplifying the critical role of equity in innovation and growth.

Stephanie Gross
Stephanie Gross is the Founder and CEO of Bumby Wool, an Alberta-based sustainable apparel and body care company specializing in custom-fit Merino wool clothing for the entire family. Over nearly two decades, Stephanie has grown Bumby from a small cottage industry into an internationally recognized brand serving customers across North America and beyond.
Driven by a mission to make the world a better and more beautiful place through comfort and confidence, Stephanie combines ethical Canadian manufacturing, digital customization tools, and natural materials to create durable garments designed to last. In addition to apparel, Bumby produces lanolin-rich wool care and body products, including handcrafted soaps made with locally sourced Alberta agricultural tallow.
