Amoudath Mazu, Executive Director
Amoudath Mazu is an independent economist, social entrepreneur, and regional program manager, dedicated to empowering women and youth across West Africa through education, economic inclusion, and access to rights and trade.
She is the founder of the Groupe d’Action pour l’Épanouissement des Femmes et des Filles (GAEF-Bénin), a grassroots NGO committed to advancing women’s empowerment and leadership. Since 2019, she has successfully supported over 300 women aged 20 to 45 in securing sustainable income-generating opportunities, alongside several community-driven initiatives.
Amoudath is also an alumna of the World Bank Group (Africa), where she conducted gender-focused research and contributed to the design of impactful development solutions. She worked on key projects such as: SWEDD – Sahel Women's Empowerment and Demographic Dividend Project;NAFA – Social Protection Program; Environment and Mining Project. The first two were approved by the Board in FY2020, demonstrating her capacity to shape transformative programs at scale.
A strong believer in youth potential, Amoudath has trained and mentored over 2,000 young professionals in leadership, entrepreneurship, policy evaluation, and data analysis, helping them gain practical, employable skills.
She is a proud alumna of the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship (YALI – Young African Leaders Initiative), where she further strengthened her leadership skills in governance and civic engagement.
She has been managing multi-country programs at WILDAF West Africa for two years , covering agriculture, education,gender and women’s and girls rights and health across 11 West African countries.
In 2024, she joined Crossroads International as a Regional Program Manager, where she leads a volunteering and development program operating in five West African nations.
A committed advocate for gender equity and inclusive development, Amoudath works closely with public authorities and traditional leaders to reduce gender disparities and promote sustainable social change from local communities to international platforms.
She is driven by a bold vision: a world where equal economic opportunities are accessible to all regardless of gender or background.
