Global Chamber Baltimore/Washington DC Presents
In Collaboration with Thunderbird School of Global Management
US APEC 2023: Fostering Inclusive Trade and Empowering MSMEs
Join us for an engaging and dynamic event!
We are honored to host keynote speaker Matt Murray, U.S. Senior Official for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) who will be discussing APEC and the opportunities for businesses in the region.
US MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) have not yet fully capitalized on cross-border potential opportunities. Despite proven advantages including lower business failure rates and higher average growth... less than 1 in 100 companies in the U.S. exports despite 85% of business being outside of the U.S. And of the exporters, more than half export to only one country... and of those, more than half are only to Mexico or Canada. And so the world... and APEC is available! 62% of the world's GDP is in APEC.
The United States has the honor of hosting APEC 2023 in November, a significant event under the theme "3 I's: Interconnected, Innovative, and Inclusive." Leaders from the 21* APEC member economies, will convene to discuss and build agreements to advance a better ecosystem for international businesses, trade, investment and other important topics... including e-commerce, the digital economy and the post pandemic recovery.
What does APEC mean to you, and what can APEC do to support and empower your businesses? Join us for an engaging discussion where we will explore the potential of APEC in unlocking opportunities, fostering inclusive trade, and empowering MSMEs.
*APEC membership includes: Australia; Brunei Darussalam; Canada; Chile; People's Republic of China; Hong Kong, China; Indonesia; Japan; Republic of Korea; Malaysia; Mexico; New Zealand; Papua New Guinea; Peru; the Philippines; the Russian Federation; Singapore; Taiwan; Thailand; the United States of America; Vietnam
