Committees for Members

Global Chamber® San Antonio has a number of committees to help members connect with new opportunities and to help us collectively achieve our regional mission of helping companies and communities find and capture new opportunities and grow - across metros and borders.

International Advisory Board To Increase Import/Exports in San Antonio

Our International Advisory Board consists of insightful business leaders advising Global Chamber® San Antonio along with companies and the community on ways to increase international trade... with exporting, importing, foreign tourism and FDI/investment.  Here are the following committees:

• Ambassadors & Membership Committee - Gabriela de la Luz Rocha, Michael A. Rivera, Leticia Farley Schoeppey

• Global is Good!   The Ambassador Committee helps spread the good word about Global Chamber® San Antonio to the community, building engagement with individuals and collaborating organizations. We capture and communicate the membership experience to improve retention, expand membership, increase membership diversity and help deliver on membership needs.  We perform the ribbon cutting events for new businesses or product launches in person or virtually. 

• Making Global Local Events & Awards Committee - Lilly Guindy, Christopher Herring, Vanesia Adkins

• The committee will plan, organize in-person and virtual events for chamber members and our guest.

  This may include cultural events, dining events, international balls and galas.

• Global Logistics Committee - Vanesia Adkins, Jorge Canavati

The committee will plan, organize events for chamber members and our guest.

• Energy, Water, Food and Transportation Conservation - (CPS Energy, Edwards Aquifer Authority)

The committee will plan, organize events for chamber members and our guest.

• Arts, Culture, Recreation, and Tourism - Josey Garcia, Pharaoh Clark, Christopher Herring

 The committee will plan, organize events for chamber members and our guest.

• Global Education & Health Committee - Patience Miller, MD, Melissa Ajunwa Bohonos, MD, Dr. Keely Petty, Crissy Pena, Michael A. Rivera

The committee will plan, organize events for chamber members and our guest.

• International Business Executive Advisory - Alejandra Bueno (Alamo College District), Christopher Herring

The Committee focuses on building relationships between Global Chamber® San Antonio and the regional education community, PreK-12 and college level. It helps prepare members to deal with a variety of global business protocols in furthering development of International Business connections with confidence, proficiency and professionalism. Committee will conduct two virtual events. 

• Global Immigration & Trade Policy - Atty Matthew Myers, Jorge Canavati, Vanesia Adkins

The Global Trade Policy Committee is aware of issues related to international trade in goods and services and the legal mechanisms used to regulate trade by monitoring new developments on national and international levels. The Committee offer members current information affecting legislation, policy initiatives and multilateral and bilateral agreements.

• Trade Mission Program - Monika Prochazkova, Nora Uriostegui

The committee will plan, organize annual event for chamber members and our guest.

• Global Business Day at the Texas Capitol - Christopher C. Herring

The committee will plan, organize annual event for chamber members and our guest.

• Foreign Direct Investments & Real Estate Advisory Committee - Nora Uriostegui, Grace Garza

The Committee is aware of issues related to international trade in goods and services and the legal mechanisms used to regulate trade by monitoring new developments on national and international levels. The Committee offer members current information affecting legislation, policy initiatives and multilateral and bilateral agreements. (Foreign Direct Investment)

• Innovation Committee Monika Prochazkova, Marcel Johnson (Port San Antonio), Jane Gonzalez, Gabriela de la Luz Rocha

The committee focuses on the metro plan niches: new energy, IT, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, healthcare, and the biosciences. and innovative announcements that impact San Antonio's growth.  Virtual Presentation (8 Globinars)

• Global Business Professional (GBP) Committee - Grace Garza, Dr. Keely Petty, Qasim A. Sattar, Melissa Ajunwa Bohonos, Angie Lozano, Crissy Pena

The Global Business Professionals Committee creates opportunities for young professionals under the age of 36 and older to develop skills and build relationships that will help advance their networks and foster an understanding of thoughtful business practices. Committee members provide input to Global Chamber® San Antonio to keep the organization evolving and changing with future needs.

• Young Global Leaders (YGL) Committee - Dominique A. Anderson, Joel Engulu, Emily Meadows

The Young Global Leaders Committee creates opportunities for young professionals under the age of 35 to develop skills and build relationships that will help advance their networks and foster an understanding of thoughtful business practices. Committee members provide input to Global Chamber® San Antonio to keep the organization evolving and changing with future needs.

• Global Diaspora Committee - Christopher Herring, Joel Engulu, Patience Miller, MD, La Juana Chambers Lawson, Lilly Guindy

• Voice of International Women Committee - Yasmin Azimi, Vanesia  Adkins

The committee will plan, organize events for chamber members and our guest.

• Public Relations & Social Media Committee - Romelette Metz, Christopher Herring

• Veterans Appreciation / Military City USA - Summer Brown, Christopher Herring, Josey Garcia, Pharaoh Clark
