Mission: The Global Chamber® aims to accelerate cross-border trade and investment across the globe. We achieve this by engaging top executives and leaders, providing them with warm connections and timely information. Their ultimate goal is to drive business growth, enhance community success, and contribute to positive global change.
Volunteer as a Voluntern: Volunterns are enthusiastic individuals at the high school or college level who are passionate about global or international business. These dedicated volunteers contribute their time and expertise to support the Global Chamber’s initiatives. Whether they’re enrolled in majors related to international affairs, business, or other relevant fields, Volunterns play a vital role in advancing the organization’s mission.
The Global Chamber offers a wide range of resources, including global events, business mentoring, consulting, training, education, and informative videos. About Christopher Herring: A Trailblazer in International Business and Small Business Enterprises
Christopher Herring, the Executive Director of Global Chamber® Austin, Houston and San Antonio, stands at the forefront of international business and small business leadership. With a remarkable journey spanning over two decades, Christopher’s impact resonates across diverse sectors. He was awarded the "Ten Outstanding Young Americans Award" by the US JAYCEES for his lifetime contributions to our nation.
A Military Legacy
As a retired decorated combat veteran of the United States Air Force, Christopher’s service as a commissioned officer exemplifies dedication and resilience. His commitment to the nation laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
Inspired by Visionaries
Christopher’s path intersected with the late Ronald H. Brown, former US Secretary of Commerce, during business trips to Los Angeles. This encounter ignited a passion within him—to become a chamber leader, a business owner, and a catalyst for opportunity.
Championing Business Growth
Previously serving as the President/CEO of the Alamo City Chamber of Commerce in San Antonio (the United States’ 7th largest city), Christopher adeptly balanced the needs of corporate partners, small businesses, and collegiate student members. His leadership transcended local boundaries.
Advocacy and Empowerment
Christopher’s influence extended nationally as he held the position of Chairman of the Texas Association of African American Chambers of Commerce (TAAACC). His tireless advocacy benefited over 250,000 businesses and 23 chambers of commerce, all with the goal of enhancing overall revenues and sales.
Diversity and Innovation
Certified as a Workforce Diversity Trainer through the Society of Human Resource Management, Christopher championed diversity and inclusion. His role on the Small Business Advocacy Committee (SBAC) of the City of San Antonio for three Mayors further exemplified his commitment to fostering economic growth.
Recognitions and Impact
As a City Official and Chairman of the SBAC, Christopher played a pivotal role in earning San Antonio the prestigious title of “Best Small Business Program” in the United States by the International Economic Development Foundation in 2019.
Entrepreneurial Ventures
Beyond his leadership roles, Christopher’s entrepreneurial spirit shines. He serves as the President and CEO of River Walk Publishing, LLC. in Texas—a testament to his unwavering dedication to business excellence.
Global Engagement
Christopher’s influence extends globally. He has served on the Board of Directors of the San Antonio Council of International Visitors and Global Ties Iowa, serving the US State Department through Global Ties USA, and is an active participant as a Veteran in the US Global Leadership Coalition, Texas Committee. Herring is also a member of the International Executive Advisory Committee of the Alamo Colleges District. Herring and his family helped sponsor the first of its kind visits of the President of Namibia to San Antonio as well as 50+ African business leaders from 35 different countries who were selected as Mandela Washington Fellows to visit Central Texas cities and businesses.
